Vanessa Brizuela is a technical officer in the Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research at WHO. She and her team are leading efforts on research capacity strengthening in sexual and reproductive health and rights. Vanessa started her career in Argentina as a licensed psychologist; however she has always had a passion for global maternal and newborn health. She has coordinated a host of sexual and reproductive education programmes in New York, the Caribbean and Buenos Aires. She holds a Doctorate in Public Health with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.
