About Saron Things

Pop culture. Politics. No pandering. Each week, Saron Things dives into Bravo chaos, celebrity gossip, true crime, and the state of politics. Hosted by pop culture aficionado and Democratic strategist Saron Olkaba, it’s smart, unhinged, and allergic to groupthink—like if Page Six and MSNBC had a martini and raised her to be a mouthy broad. Failed the leftist purity test or think the GOP’s giving cult? You’re home. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Klay Thompson & Megan Thee Stallion + Summer House Reunion Leaks

This week on Saron Things: A man tried to quiz me on Congress on a first date and—predictably—it went downhill from there. Then we get into the chaos: the Summer House reunion leaks, Amanda and West’s increasingly indefensible behavior, and why Ciara deserved better from everyone involved. Also: Klay Thompson cheating on Megan Thee Stallion—and why this one feels darker than your standard athlete scandal. Plus the McBee Dynasty text meltdown, The Valley being borderline unwatchable, and a quick reality check on men who think control = masculinity.

Amanda & West Are Not Making Sense (Summer House) + I Don’t Want a Second Date

This week on Saron Things, we need to talk about Summer House—because the Amanda, West, and Ciara situation is not adding up. The timeline doesn’t make sense, the explanations don’t hold, and at this point, it’s not even about “overlap.” It’s about proximity, betrayal, and behavior that feels… off. I break down what we actually know, what’s being implied, and why I don’t believe the current narrative. Then, on a more personal note—I went on a date. He was kind, normal, objectively great… and I still didn’t want a second one. So what do you do when nothing is wrong, but something still isn’t right? We get into the psychology of that, the subtle feeling of obligation in dating, and why “nice” isn’t always enough. Also covering: * Alex Cooper vs Alix Earle (what’s really behind it) * Hulu’s new reality slate * Stassi Schroeder’s return * Blake Lively updates

[…] And if the people aren't asking him to hang up his tights, and they're reinforcing that by giving them their hard-earned dollar bills, then why would he stop? Also, he's playing like 22 in the movie right now, and he's also playing 22 in the Odyssey. Telemachus is is his dad went away when he was two. He was on the Odyssey for 20 years, making him 22. Tom Holland is only 30 years old. So I don't understand how it's so far fetched for him to still be playing these characters that are only eight years younger than him at the time. Do we not recall Andrea from 90210 who was like 70 years old playing a teenager? […]
