Sascha Martin is a young inventor whose genius knows no responsibility. He attends Landfill Public School where, each week during News, he delights and traumatises, horrifies and endangers his classmates in 2M and the entire school community.
Sascha's weekly inventions, and the chaos that follows, have won Landfill Public School the widest renown as a Centre of Excellence in Surprise.
Now in Sascha Martin's Ripping News, the podcast, each boundary-pushing triumph of science, each inevitable, unanticipated consequence and every edge of your seat apocalypse comes appallingly to life, in the author's own humble narration.
Take a few moments in your day. Join Sascha's misadventures with rocket-ships and flying saucers, aliens and dinosaurs, zombies, megafauna and exo-girls, plus his constant, ever critical, always demanding nemesis and not-friend, Mary-Alice Cooper.
It's all great fun until somebody ... Well, we'll get to that.

Sascha Martin's Ripping News Episode 13: Sascha Martin's Great Ungoo Part 3
In a land of abandoned technology, an exo-plan unfolds to restore the wonders that Sascha's Gobbly Goo has taken from our heroes.
Aggie's present only in body, but the boys are agog.
Meanwhile, Mary-Alice is wracked with aggressive ennui. And strangely conflicted. The exo-girl has belittled all that Mary-Alice holds dear, but she can't deny the seductive power of her promises.
Can Landfill's refugees remain together? Or will one of them be hurled, post-fashion, into the Great Unknown?

Sascha Martin's Ripping News Episode 12: Sascha Martin's Great Ungoo Part 2
Has salvation arrived in the shape of an exotic-voiced, diminutive figure wielding science with the same authority and sense of consequence as Sascha himself? His opposite number? His more stylish alter ego?
Join our heroes as they learn what lies beyond the door that wasn't there, and wasn't there again.
Yes, some may find a paradise, but for Mary-Alice it means nothing without the one thing she needs, desires and demands. And demands. And demands.
But no one's listening to her.
Aggie, meanwhile, searches for books and returns with a tiny surprise that's just ... huge.

Sascha Martin's Ripping News Episode 11: Sascha Martin's Great Ungoo Part 1
Welcome to Episode 11 of Sascha Martin's Ripping News.
Today we begin our final tale for Season One, and loop back to the end of our very first calamity.
Avid listeners will recall, from Teasers One, Two and Three, that Sascha's Gobbly Goo had gobbled everything inanimate in Landfill, transforming everything to a snotty yellow sea; and the survivors had gathered, naked, on an island of coagulate.
Sascha Martin, unwitting architect of Landfill's destruction, faced an impossible task. His laboratory was gone, and all his tools. Only snot remained. And naked people. And bugs and animals.
It would take a miracle to save Landfill now. But Sascha doesn't deal in miracles. His work is hard science.
Is there no one who can help?
Well, about that ...
Listen on, dear listeners, as Sascha Martin's Great Ungoo pushes the very boundaries of science and surprise.
Note: A guest voice joins our podcast today, and for the rest of Season 1. The face behind the voice is Dana Andersen.
I approached Dana because her accent was just what I wanted for the exotic, mysterious character you'll meet today.
And Dana kindly agreed to help.

At last, journey's end for Mary-Alice Cooper, Landfill's brave little explorer of stupid places ... or, like, one stupid place, but lots of times.
Wearied by travel, artillery assault and people not hearing her truth, Mary-Alice returns for a long-anticipated reckoning with Those Who Dared to Ignore Her when they shouldn't have, so it was all their fault.
Can the boys withstand her incisive critique of everything that's wrong with them?
Will her elevated morals finally make them address the fundamental and myriad failings of their nature?
Can they even survive, when this force of nature unleashes its fury beneath Old Tip Road?
Accidental international jewel thief Mary-Alice Cooper returns to wherever it is she keeps visiting, to find her situation very grave.
Very grave indeed.
The place is overrun with soldiers, and inexplicably, they don't like her. Her running commentary on fashion in the military can't erase the fact that guns are actually pointing at her. And firing!
With the air getting saucier by the moment, Mary-Alice races headlong to meet her greatest challenge in, like, forever!
It's right in front of her, and it's about to fire.
Retiring victorious but in haste from the field of combat, Mary-Alice plunges into a new world where the vowel-impaired are many, and they've invented washing day.
How respectful they are!
But as usual, disaster lies dead ahead, and it's not going anywhere.
Has Mary-Alice's endless journey finally reached its end?
Fresh from the rustic charm of her recent home invasion, Mary-Alice returns to the scene of the crime, though not its time, and faces an altogether more challenging welcome - an armed antagonist with murder in his myopic eye.
Can she de-escalate the situation, using all her natural tact and diplomacy?
The broom, for once, is lost for words.
Mary-Alice’s worst trip ever plunges her deeper into the unknown - to her at least, and that’s all that counts.
She’s not in charge. She’s not even in the know, and both would have been unthinkable just moments before ... Moments? Or ... Look, ignore Time for a moment. It’s being weird.
And this place!
One moment ... hang on ... yes, that tracks, one moment she’s looking down on the unsophistication of an evening in the country, whichever one this is, and the next moment (yes) she’s hurled into a world of noise and terror, clonked on the head, and wakes among rustic, unabashed admirers.
But her Dark Companion shatters the moment just as she’s having it, and now there’s a crime scene to flee. Edmond Locard would have things to say about this moment, but his hasn’t arrived yet, and the point is moot.
Mary-Alice Cooper has always been a legend in her own mind, but this time the hat’s on backwards. Or sideways, at the very least.
It’s school holidays in Landfill, and Mary-Alice is being ignored by Sascha and Luca, who are hard at work on projects that have - oh my god! - nothing to do with her.
Well … Hell hath no fury like a not-friend scorned.
Riding high on a stolen invention, Mary-Alice makes just the kind of exit she could only dream of (in a really bad sleep), and an entrance she’ll be working on for a long, long time.
Will she ever get back to her adoring followers?
Join Mary-Alice Cooper, Landfill’s queen of drama, on a deeply offensive dive into the culture and traditions of a place she just can’t get away from.
The fate of the planet hangs in the balance. Will Sascha get this right, or will dawn’s bright light reignite the flight of his Super Balls?
Is extinction the next overnight sensation?
Experience science on the fly as Sascha crafts a critically cataclysmic collision of cosmic consequence, and suddenly it’s the girls they’re all afraid of.
Where can you run, on a mountain made of balls? How do you hide from a drooling girl?
It’s all slippery slopes and midnight cravings, as Sascha battles a pair of apocalypses only he could have created, in Sascha Martin's Zombie Dust.
