College Football Week 4: Upsets, Statement Wins & What Comes Next
Four weeks into the college football season, the gap between preseason expectations and what teams are actually showing us is getting wider.
Ryan Satkowiak, co-host of the Inside the Pylon podcast, joins Saturday Huddle to break down a Week 4 filled with statement wins, surprising losses and another round of shifting expectations.
We start with Oregon’s 41–27 road win over USC and what the Ducks showed in one of their biggest tests since the loss to Oklahoma State. We also unpack Florida’s stunning 52–28 win over Ole Miss, Texas surviving Tennessee on the road, Iowa’s one-point win over Michigan, Wisconsin upsetting Penn State and Mississippi State continuing to make noise in the SEC.
Then we turn the page to Week 5.
We look ahead to Ohio State at Iowa, Alabama’s trip to Mississippi State, Florida–Missouri, BYU–TCU, Washington–USC, Texas Tech–Colorado and more as conference races begin to take shape.
Which Week 4 results should change the way we see the season? Which teams are we buying — and which ones are raising new questions? And what could Week 5 change all over again?
It’s a full weekend recap and look ahead at what’s next across college football.

Week 3 Preview with Brandon Marcello: LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Texas Tech, and More
Week 3 of the college football season brings some of the first games that could truly reshape the national conversation.
Brandon Marcello, senior national college football reporter for CBS Sports, joins Saturday Huddle to preview the biggest games, teams and storylines to watch this weekend.
We start with the marquee matchup between LSU and Ole Miss, an early SEC showdown between two teams with playoff aspirations. What have we learned about each program through two weeks, what matchup could decide the game, and how much could the result change the SEC race?
From there, we turn to Florida State at Alabama, where the Crimson Tide have another opportunity to establish themselves as a national contender while Florida State faces an important early-season test.
We also head to the Big 12 for Houston at Texas Tech, a ranked conference matchup that could tell us considerably more about where the Red Raiders and Cougars fit in the championship race.
Plus, we discuss Georgia’s trip to Arkansas, teams trying to rebound from early losses, programs with something to prove, potential upset spots and the preseason narratives that are already starting to change.
Two weeks of football have given us our first real evidence. Week 3 is where we start finding out which early impressions are actually worth believing.
