About Saved and Slightly Unhinged - Podcast
Saved and Slightly Unhinged is exactly what it sounds like. Two friends, saved by grace, figuring out life with Jesus while still being a little chaotic. We’re talking testimonies, everyday struggles, random tangents, and the kind of conversations that probably should’ve stayed in the group chat. This isn’t an educational podcast. It’s real life, real faith, and real growth… just with a little unhinged energy.

EP 12: Season One Debrief: God Was In The Details
It is the end… but notttt the end. 🥹 Season One of Saved & Slightly Unhinged is officially a wrap, and we’re closing it out the only way we know how: reflecting, laughing, oversharing a little, and giving God all the glory for getting us here. In this episode, we’re taking you behind the scenes of Season One and sharing some of the things you didn’t hear along the way: how this podcast actually came together, the things we learned (sometimes very roughly ), what surprised us, and our biggest takeaways from our very first season. We’re also getting honest about feedback. The encouraging kind, the constructive kind, and the kind that made us go, “…well, okay then.” 😂 We talk about learning to hear both sides, discern what to take with us, and keep moving forward in what God called us to do. But more than anything, this episode is one giant THANK YOU. To every person who listened, shared an episode, sent us a message, encouraged us, prayed for us, or somehow found yourself here along the way… thank you for being part of Season One. And to our future listeners who stumble across this podcast later: welcome. We’ve been waiting for you. 🫶 Season One may be ending, but Saved & Slightly Unhinged is just getting started. See you in Season Two.

EP 11: Healing Happens With Him
We made it to the end of Season One! Over the past season we've shared our testimonies, wrestled through obedience and discipline, questioned whether we were putting God in a box, learned what it means to own our faith, and discovered that following Jesus doesn't always look the way we expected. So... what does healing actually look like? In this season finale, we're reflecting on the ways God has been gently transforming us through every conversation we've had. We talk about childhood wounds, different paths to healing, the beauty of community, and why healing isn't about becoming a different person overnight. It's about becoming more like Christ, one surrendered step at a time. We also wrestle with honest questions: Do you have to surrender before healing begins? Why is it so hard to let God into the places we've tried to fix ourselves? And how do we keep trusting Him when the journey doesn't make earthly sense? If you've ever wondered whether you're healing "the right way," or if God could meet you in the middle of your story, this conversation is for you. Scripture referenced: Colossians 1:19-20, Jeremiah 29:11, Matthew 6:25-30. Email: savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com (savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com) Instagram/Tiktok: @savedandslightlyunhinged

EP 10: Your Faith Was Never Meant to Stay Quiet
The Gospel is beautifully simple. We're all sinners in need of a Savior, and because God loved us so deeply, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. We could never earn that gift, and we don't have to. We simply receive His grace and choose to follow Him. In this episode, we talk about what it actually looks like to own your faith in everyday life. Not by pretending to have it all together, but by allowing Jesus to meet you exactly where you are. We share why your testimony matters more than you probably realize. The very parts of your story you may want to hide could be the exact thing God uses to remind someone else that they aren't alone. We also have an honest conversation about how intimidating it can feel to publicly follow Jesus. The fear of judgment. The pressure to be the "perfect Christian." The feeling that if we're going to represent Jesus, we have to get everything right. But Jesus never asked us to be perfect. He simply asked us to follow Him. Together we reflect on: What the Gospel really is Why your testimony has purpose Surrendering every part of your life to Jesus Living out your faith in everyday moments Letting go of the pressure to appear like the "perfect Christian" Reflection Question: What part of your story have you been hesitant to share, and could God be inviting you to trust Him with it? EP 09: Resting or Falling Off?
What is rest? It sounds like a simple question, but for many of us, it's surprisingly difficult to answer. In this episode, we're talking about Sabbath and what rest looks like in our real lives. Not the picture-perfect version, but the messy, honest version. Kathy shares her struggle with resting after leaving the corporate world, wrestling with survivor's guilt and the feeling that slowing down means she's somehow falling behind. Even when God is inviting her to rest, she can find herself questioning whether rest is productive enough. Sara shares her own challenges with rest while balancing a full-time job, ministry, and the responsibilities of life as a single woman. Sometimes rest feels impossible to fit into an already full schedule. Other times, what starts as rest can drift into isolation, exhaustion, or even a depressive episode, making it difficult to discern the difference between healthy Sabbath and simply checking out. Together, we unpack what we perceive God intended Sabbath to be, why rest isn't something we earn, and how true rest is found in His presence rather than our performance. Maybe Sabbath isn't about escaping life. Maybe it's about creating space to remember who God is and who we are in Him. Reflection Question: What does your ideal Sabbath day look like, and why do you feel it's important to intentionally make space for rest? Scripture References: Genesis 2:2-3 Exodus 20:8-11 Matthew 11:28-30 Mark 2:27 Hebrews 4:9-11 Email: savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com (savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com) Instagram/Tik Tok: @savedandslightlyunhinged

EP 08: Listening is Harder Than Hearing
How do you know when God is speaking? In this episode, we're talking about the very real struggle of trying to discern God's voice. Sometimes we're asking for confirmation. Sometimes we're questioning whether we heard Him correctly. And if we're being honest... sometimes we know exactly what He's saying, we just don't want to do it. We reflect on the tension between hearing God and obeying Him, the ways He gently meets us where we are, and how He often sends little reminders, confirmations, and "God nuggets" even when we're hesitant to listen. God is kind, loving, patient, and never the author of confusion. He isn't waiting for us to figure everything out perfectly. He simply invites us to draw near and listen. What if we spent a little less time overthinking and a little more time leaning into what He's already been showing us? We also talk about the importance of creating pauses in our lives. Because sometimes the reason we can't hear God isn't because He isn't speaking... it's because we haven't slowed down enough to listen. Scripture References: • Ephesians 3:14-21 (NLT) • Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) Reflection Question: Are we truly making time to hear from God, or are we filling every quiet space before He has a chance to speak? EP 07: Head Knowledge, Heart Surrender: When Obedience and Discipline Feel Hard
Discipline and obedience sound simple... until we're actually asked to live them out. In this episode, we're talking through something we're both actively struggling with: knowing what God is asking of us, having the head knowledge to back it up, and still wrestling to let it sink into our hearts. Somewhere along the way, we've turned discipline and obedience into heavy burdens instead of invitations to walk with Jesus. We put so much emphasis on what we should be doing that we forget the beauty of Who we're doing it with. The truth? We don't have to do anything to earn God's love. We get to walk with Him. We get to seek Him. We get to trust Him. And when we fail, we get to receive His grace. Together, we're unpacking what it looks like to stop striving, stop overcomplicating things, and start asking a simpler question: Where can we find Jesus in this circumstance? Join us as we talk through spiritual discipline, obedience, temptation, grace, and the reminder that God never asked us to do this life alone. Scripture referenced in this episode: • Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV) • Matthew 6:33 (ESV) • Matthew 4:1-11 • Ephesians 6:10-18 (ESV) • Matthew 6:26-27 (NIV) • 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV) Email: savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com (savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com) Instagram/Tik Tok: @savedandslightlyunhinged

EP 06: The Good Christian Olympics
Welcome to the invisible competition nobody asked to join. In this episode of Saved & Slightly Unhinged, we talk about the pressure to perform as Christians. Looking put together. Saying the “right” things. Being the most disciplined, most spiritual, most serving, most healed version of ourselves… while secretly feeling exhausted trying to keep up. Somewhere along the way, many of us turned our relationship with God into a scoreboard. But Jesus never asked us to perform for Him. He said: come as you are. We reflect on: The pressure to look like a “good Christian” to other people How performance can quietly replace intimacy with God Heart posture vs outward appearance The uncomfortable realization that we may be idolizing ourselves, our image, or how we’re perceived spiritually This episode is an honest conversation about taking off the costume, stepping off the stage, and realizing God was never asking for perfection in the first place. Just presence. Questions we reflect on during this episode: “Maybe being a ‘good Christian’ isn’t about doing everything right… maybe it’s about actually knowing Him.” “Do you feel like you’re in a relationship with God… or performing for Him?” Email: savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com (savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com) Instagram/Tik Tok: @SavedandSlightlyUnhinged

EP 05: Am I just limiting God, or just traumatized?
A shorter episode… but a big conversation. In this episode of Saved & Slightly Unhinged, we unpack the ways we unknowingly limit God based on our past pain, disappointments, fears, and trauma. Sometimes we say we trust Him… but deep down, we’ve already decided what He probably won’t do. What prayers feel too impossible. What situations feel too far gone. What parts of ourselves could never truly heal. But maybe God was never the One inside the box. Maybe we are. We talk about: How trauma can distort our view of God Limiting beliefs that quietly shape our faith Expecting less from God to protect ourselves from disappointment Learning to trust Him beyond logic, fear, and control Unlearning survival-mode faith This episode is for anyone trying to rebuild trust with God while healing from the things life taught them to fear. A quick conversation with a question that might stay with you long after it ends: Is God really limited… or have we limited what we believe He can do? EP 04: God, What are we doing right now??
Ever feel like God handed you a compass with no map attached? Yeah… same. In this episode of Saved & Slightly Unhinged, we unpack the weird, stretching, beautiful tension of being in a season where God is clearly moving… but you still have absolutely no idea what He’s doing half the time. We talk about: Learning to obey before having all the answers Trusting God while feeling uncertain, uncomfortable, and slightly feral Outgrowing old versions of ourselves What it looks like to surrender control when the future feels blurry Feeling called into something deeper while still asking, “Lord… respectfully… what is happening?” This is a conversation for anyone in a transition season, a waiting season, a pruning season, or a “I know God said move but I don’t even know where I’m walking to” season. We’re sharing real-time revelation, honest struggles, and the comfort of knowing that faith was never about having the full plan. It was always about trusting the One who does. So if you’ve been feeling stretched, confused, refined, hopeful, emotional, expectant, or all of the above at the same time… welcome. You’re probably right where God wants you. 🤍 Email: savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com (savedandslightlyunhinged@gmail.com) Instagram/Tik Tok: @savedandslightlyunhinged
