The Halloween season is upon us and in his grand tradition, Rob is celebrating by forcing Ray to watch a horror movie! However, the movie he’s bringing him isn’t strictly a horror movie, in fact, dare he call it an ”anti-horror” movie?? Rob is recommending the 2011 Horror-Comedy THE CABIN IN THE WOODS! Centered on a group of college kids heading out to the woods for a party weekend but soon find out things aren’t as they seem when an outside force seems to be orchestrating their untimely demise! Led by Chris Hemswoth (MARVEL’S THOR, FURIOSA, Kristen Connolly (HOUSE OF CARDS, HONEY DON’T), Fran Kranz (JULIA, REBIRTH), THE CABIN IN THE WOODS turns the horror genre on its head by pandering the horror fanatics with its endless homages to the great films of the past, but blending its cliche set-up into something truly original and elevates it beyond the pitfalls of the genre. The Dream Team - Hello Movies, My Old Friend Ep. 209
CAR RAYROB is wrapping up the month of September with a brand-new HELLO MOVIES, MY OLD FRIEND! For this episode, Ray and Rob are going back to the Michael Keaton well by revisiting the 1989 comedy classic, THE DREAM TEAM! Co-starring such greats as Chrisopher Lloyd (BACK TO THE FUTURE, TAXI), Peter Boyle (YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM) and Stephen Furst (ANIMAL HOUSE, MIDNIGHT MADNESS), THE DREAM TEAM centers on a group of dysfunctional mental patients who are taken into the city for a field trip to a Yankee’s game but a twist of bad luck finds them separated from their doctor. All alone in the city, they have to fend for themselves as well as save their doctor from a pickle he finds himself entangled in.
THE DREAM TEAM comes from an era of mid-budget comedies that feel foreign to the modern film world but were the bread and butter of both Ray and Rob’s childhoods. They both have fond memories of this movie, but memories are memories and they have to find out if it still holds up! Tune in this week to find out!

A Taxi Driver - Say Hello To My Little Film Ep. 318
It’s time for Ray’s crack on SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM and he’s on a slump of one, but he thinks he can get things back on track by recommending the 2017 historical drama, A TAXI DRIVER starring podcast favorite Song Kang-ho (PARASITE, JOINT SECURITY AREA)! The movie centers on Mr. Kim, a Seoul based taxi driver who lies his way into the employ of Jürgen Hinzpeter, a German journalist (played by the great Thomas Kretschmann) who has come to Korea to cover the Qwangju Uprising in 1980. When Mr. Kim doesn’t fully understand the danger he finds himself in, he must forge a team with Jürgen to not only cover the horrors the government is trying to hide, but to return home to his daughter who is desperately waiting for him.
As mentioned, Rob is a big fan of Song Kang-ho and this recommendation could be a lay-up for him, but you’re going to have to tune in to find out if it is!
