This is a podcast all about nonsense pop lyrics. Have you ever found yourself wondering what the [expletive deleted] those song lyrics were about? If so this is the podcast for you, we explore all of these (and a whole lot more besides).
Say what episode 9 - "He's the Scatman, no not that sort of....never mind"
Bouncing back to the 70s and 80s for this week's songs, where we examine the fruits of a wild, debauched studio session where a jam turned into a smash hit record, but drugs are bad mmkay!
Then we turn our attention to Ed Millaband...sorry..Steve Millerband's oddity "The Joker".

Say what episode 8 - "If Hammer asks, you haven't seen us."
We're taking it back to the early 90s with some more wildly successful gibberish that seemed to be everywhere. We blame you for making these people famous, you know?
Somehow Rick James continues to haunt us as well.

Say what episode 7 - "You want it what way?"
Season 2 baby!
Cast your mind back to the heady days when boybands ruled the roost and no one batted an eyelid at the absolute nonsense they would bless us with.
1999 has a lot to answer for..

Say what episode 6 - "Does God have a PRO?"
This episode is a product of the divine touch, we are merely the vessels for a higher power. The words flow through us much like the words to Yacht Rock staple; Africa by Toto. Confused? Listen in as we go through the absolute nonsense held within.
Followed up by some more misheard lyrics to add extra bonus value for you, so don't ever say we don't treat you well.

Say what episode 5 - "Toasts and Ghosts"
Today we have the behemoth of nonsense pop lyrics, we feature a song that was voted as having the worst lyrics of all time (Life by Des'ree) and a song that was voted one of the most annoying of all time (You're beautiful by James Blunt).
We also talk a lot about a much loved TV show from the 80s called Rentaghost and how funky the drums are in it's theme tune.

Say what episode 4 - "Brave hearts and Dingalings"
Episode 4 sees us touch upon the granddaddy of nonsense pop song lyrics as we uncover what goes on with the 1960s classic sea shanty-cum-saucyathon (smirk) that is Louie Louie by The Kingsmen. We ask important questions such as "what are they going on about?", "why was there an inept FBI investigation over it?" and "where's the actual smut?"
We also revisit one of Ferg's most important contributions to pop music with his rewrite of Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice.
And a whole lot of tittilating content besides in what turned out to be an episode of utter filth.

Say what episode 3 - "Oh, what a show!"
Andy and Ferg are back with another explosive episode of Say what. This time it's personal...not really but be aware there are some strong themes hinted at so not for the easily offended.
This episode mostly revolves the massively confusing December 1963 (Oh what a night) by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and the rather bizarre backstory that you may not be aware of.
Plus a smattering of misheard lyrics too.
If you're enjoying the show, then please subscribe, like, comment and share (in any order that suits you).

Say what episode 2 "To the future and back again"
This episode mainly focuses on the songs "Year 3000" by 00s Pop-Punk band; Busted and "What's the frequency, Kenneth?" by Georgia's navel gazers; REM although takes a few sidequests into various movies for some unknown reason with a klang or two to keep it interesting.

Say what episode 1 - "let's call it a pilot"
This is our first full episode so go gentle.
Have you ever listened to a pop song and thought, "love the music but what the jeff are they talking about?" If not then you either haven't been paying close enough attention or you just don't care (in which case I'm guessing you're probably Gen X). If you have thought that though then this is the podcast for you.
In this first episode we, Andy and Ferg, delve deeply into Rocket Man by Elton John and Into the valley by The Skids amongst loads of other diversions and distractions.
Apologies if some of the sound is a bit glitchy in this first episode we're just finding our feet. It does get better, we promise.

Say what? Season 1 trailer
This is the (hastily created) season 1 trailer for a new podcast series about nonsense lyrics in pop music.
It's a light hearted look at music, slightly nerdy and often not safe for work. Some songs/artists we admire, some not so much so don't take offence if we trash your favourites. Actually maybe you should? Who are we to judge you?
