Welcome to Scarah's Screamcast where I, Scarah Damsel of the Doomed, take you deep into my world and the world of horror. This bi-weekly podcast is part companion show to my live Scarah's Scream Theatre event which takes place at at Doc's Drive-In Theatre in Buda, Texas, and part interactive guide into all things going on in the Scarahverse.
I will share with you interesting and insightful information about my favorite horror movies that I have uncovered through hours of research. It will be like you are receiving a little horror history lesson, without the pop quiz.
I would love to hear from you! Call me at (512) 710-8766 and leave me a message, question, or suggestion. I will play some of the messages on the podcast!
So, whether you're a seasoned horror fan looking to hear about your favorite flicks or if you're just here for the juicy details about my life, Scarah's Screamcast aims to entertain!
Turn down the lights, crank up the creepy, and join me for a frightfully good time!
Brandon Hodge: The Real History of Ouija Boards & Supernatural Machines
Occult historian, author, and collector Brandon Hodge joins me with a collection of antique spirit communication devices and some incredible stories behind them.
We talk about the origins of the Ouija board, Victorian séances, spirit trumpets, writing planchettes, the history of Spiritualism, and how Hollywood helped shape our fears about talking boards.
Brandon also shares the years of research behind his new book, Supernatural Machines, and shows off some remarkable pieces from his collection, including an original Ouija board from the 1890s.
Plus Horror Headlines, Bone Deep, Scarah's Scary Hotline, and more.
Until next time, I'll see you in your screams.

Meet the Monsters: Orlock & Caruso
Haunt season is here, so I invited two of my fellow Bat City Scaregrounds monsters into the Domicile of the Doomed.
Orlock the Defiler returns for his third Screamcast, this time joined by Caruso, the primordial terror who's apparently been hanging around the land since long before any of us got there.
We talk about their histories, the monsters and attractions of Bat City, the brand new Ritual haunt, Castle Orlock, Slaughter Mall, haunt actors, weird patrons, and what makes a good haunted house.
Then Orlock and Caruso play Possess, Pester or Petrify with some horror icons and spend the rest of the episode insulting each other while I attempt to maintain some semblance of control.
Plus Horror Headlines, Scarah's Scary Hotline, Bat City's artists and vendors, and a lot of haunt-season nonsense.
Until next time, I'll see you in your screams.

David Blue Garcia: Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022), Blood Fest & Filmmaking in Texas
Director and cinematographer David Blue Garcia joins Scarah to talk about taking over Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) after production had already begun and what it took to bring Leatherface back to the screen.
David gets into shooting the film in Bulgaria, changing the camera and lens package, stretching the schedule to give the bus massacre the time it needed, working with Mark Burnham as Leatherface, and even shooting part of the movie himself when his DP got sick.
He also shares the story behind his unmade follow-up to Texas Chainsaw, which would have brought Leatherface into a modern Texas suburb, and talks about shooting Blood Fest here in Austin and his upcoming project The Lifted.
Plus Horror Headlines, Bone Deep, Scarah's Scary Hotline, and plenty of horror talk along the way.
