Blending Together | NCAA Wins Appeal, CSL Gains More Momentum, College Football Grows in Controversy
🏈 College Football grows in controversy, 🏊 CSL gains momentum, ⚖️ the NCAA wins another TRO appeal, and more in this week's episode!
🏊 A swimmer from Indiana, Kristina Paegle, lost an NCAA appeal for a 5th year of eligibility despite competing in Match 1 of the College Swimming League the week prior. She was also a part of the TRO in Monroe County with other fellow swimmers Owen McDonald and Zalan Sarkany. Schlyde talks about what this means for IU Swimming, as well as upcoming meets that could be affected from the result of the NCAA's court win.
🚨 College Football seems to dabble in controversy every week at this point. At the beginning of the season it was Michigan conjuring time, last Friday it was Virginia Tech supposedly robbed (they were not). Schlyde thinks it is weird that there have been so many controversies already this year in CFB.
📊 SEC bias still exists? Yes. This does not surprise Schlyde, but it becomes more obvious every single year. Nebraska, who is 5-0, got left out of the Top 25, the first time that has happened to a B1G team since 2019. The last time that ever happened to the SEC? Almost a century ago in 1943, the team was Vanderbilt. Schlyde breaks down the bias and where you can see it in the AP Poll.
🏊♂️ College Swimming League is starting to really take off! While the broadcasting numbers have not been made public yet, the ticket sales have been, and the sales have been exponentially increasing each meet. Match 3 had the largest amount of tickets sold, breaking the previous record in 2016 for a college swimming meet. Schlyde breaks this down and talks about what it means.
🔥 Match 4 is coming up this week, but CSL released their postseason projections. Schlyde breaks those down, previews Match 4, and recaps Match 3.
🏈 Schlyde also does the weekly recap and preview of College Football. There are some crazy games as always, but this week we will start to learn a lot about some of these teams, with a potential dramatic shakeup of the Top 10.

Forward Progress | Protect College Sports Act Passes, CSL and CFB Recaps and Previews
🏛️ One more step until a Bill is passed, 🏈 CFB craziness, 🏊 CSL matches 1 and 2, and more! In this week's broadcast, Schlyde goes into all of this and more!!
🇺🇸 The Protect College Sports Act was passed in the Senate 77-22, a huge landmark achievement in order for it to go from Act to Bill. Now all that is left is for the House to pass it, send it to the President, and then it becomes a Bill. However, we will have to wait until November 9th until the Act can move further in the process. Schlyde talks about the Act (soon to be Bill), the standout points in the Act, and how some are connected to each other and their meanings!
🚨 USC’s Desman Stephens landed a late hit on Dante Moore as he was sliding, which caused Dante Moore to be escorted off of the field. While Moore was being tended to, Stephens was celebrating well after it was clear that Dante was seriously injured. It sparked major outrage online! He received a one-game suspension, which some people are saying is not enough. Schlyde talks about the hit, the aftermath, and how Oregon bounced back in the game.
🏊 The CSL (College Swimming League) matches 1 and 2 concluded last week. Schlyde talks about the environment of the matches after attending both and the league’s potential to go. He also dives into teams' performances and the upcoming match on Friday (10/2) in Stanford and the advantage that Ohio State has over the other teams in match 3 due to them competing in match 1.
🏈 College football was an absolute frenzy last weekend, as always! Indiana on the ropes against Northwestern, Michigan receiving their karma from Iowa (literally!!!), Texas A&M in a downward spiral, Mississippi State on the up-and-up, Florida looking scary, and more. Schlyde goes into all of this and more, previewing the upcoming games and recapping the previous week's games!

Sweet Victory | Karma Serves Kiffin, New CSL Rules, IU Eligibility Mystery, and CFB Reaction/Lead in
🏈 This was a crazy weekend for college football, and we're just getting warmed up! 🔥 CSL releases new rules ahead of the first match on Thursday between Michigan, Ohio State, Indiana, and Louisville! 🏊♂️ Schlyde talks about this and more in this week's broadcast!!!⚖️ Another story that actually has an update after the recording of this episode is the Stephan Daley and Kelan Wyatt eligibility story. When I recorded, their eligibility, as well as other IU athletes in the sports of basketball and swimming, was up in the air. But on 9/23, the Monroe County Court granted them all eligibility! ✅ In the show, Schlyde talks about the uncertainty of Daley and Wyatt and how their legal battles for eligibility could have an impact on the Hoosier defense. 🏈🤯 There were some crazy upsets in college football last weekend. One of the biggest upsets, if not the biggest upset of the year (so far), was unranked Kentucky over top 10 ranked Texas A&M at Kyle Field!! 🐗🔥 This completely shakes up the standings of the SEC! Schlyde talks about this game and other crazy games that happened in college football. 🏈🟨🟥 Yellow cards and red cards in swimming?? Yes, you heard that correctly. In the rules that the College Swimming League (CSL) released via Instagram, there are now yellow and red cards in swimming! 🏊♂️ As someone who swam competitively, this new addition came as a big surprise! Normally there are just DQs and there isn't much of a penalty besides the time of the event you got DQed in not counting. But not in CSL! 😳 Schlyde talks about this as well as other new rules that were released from CSL.🔥 This weekend's slate for college football is the real Week 1 for a lot of people. It is the beginning of conference play, with more competitive games, and some teams are in more desperate situations than others when it comes to the playoffs! 🏆 There are some possible "playoff elimination games" this weekend! 👀 Schlyde talks about the big storylines in college football heading into the weekend!👕 T-shirt: https://millions.co/schlyde.into.sports/merch/tshirt-schlyde-sports-charged-t-shirt🧥 Hoodies: https://millions.co/schlyde.into.sports/merch/hoodie-schlyde-sports-s-charged-hoodie📸 Insta: https://www.instagram.com/schlyde_into_sports/🎵 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@schlydeintosports📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61581974025252
