On this episode of the scholar homies podcast, Maria and Rocio open up about what it means to be scholar moms with teens and college kids who’ve seen them hustle through school and life. They share what pushed them to pursue graduate degrees, the guilt that sometimes comes with balancing motherhood and ambition, and how education became a lifeline for healing after hardship.
From surviving domestic violence to thriving as professionals, they get real about imposter syndrome, code-switching, and learning to stand firm in their authenticity as Latina women in professional spaces. The conversation closes with reflections on love, from self-love to modeling healthy relationships for their kids and what it truly means to break cycles and build peace.
This episode is for every woman who is tired of being strong all the time and just wants to be seen, heard, and understood.
