Should spicy adult books be allowed to have cute covers? Should books have ratings like movies and music? Is the cover responsible for telling you what's inside... or are you responsible for figuring out what you're buying?
We also have some thoughts about AI-generated flyers, AI profile pictures and why everything on the internet is starting to look exactly the same.

A Bat Flew Into Our Bookstore. Then It Touched Her.
A bat flew into The Book Burrow.
It could have simply flown back out. Instead, it chose KStew.
This week we're telling the full story of the bat that flew through the bookstore, sent everyone running, touched KStew, landed by the Book Burrow sign, and started an unexpected rabies adventure about 20 minutes before Book Club.
We also manage to talk about actual books. Slewfoot: A Tale of Bewitchery by Brom gets five stars from both of us, we're getting ready for the sold-out Practical Magic party, Book Club is growing, Halloween has taken over the store, and apparently our decorations are making people nervous.
Then there's small-business donations, cinnamon possibly trying to kill us, and all the other nonsense that somehow makes the list.
Basically: books, bats, bookstore life and bad decisions.

Books first. Complaining second. As God intended.
This week we're talking about the books we've been reading, storm-chasing romance, Savannah Golden's Polaris, and what's happening at The Book Burrow. Then we get into the part of owning an indie bookstore nobody sees: ordering, inventory, social media, bank runs, post office trips, family life, sick kids, and occasionally getting a one-star review because real life happened.
Then things get significantly less productive.
Reborn doll moms. TikTok rage bait. People eating horrifying amounts of butter. True crime. Getting stuck on Universal rides. Roller coaster death scenarios. You know, bookstore stuff.
Scissor Sisters is book talk, bookstore life and whatever else KStew and Meep couldn't stop thinking about this week.
