'The Missing Electric Key' - A slice of life drama

Sounds straight forward, but it was a sound design and voice acting challenge! You'll want headphones for this, to not miss the nuance of spacial panning. 'Ant Farm' - A critique on critiques

Let's unpack what it means to critique art, but in a weird and wacky way.. we'd expect no less from one of our fantastic collective members James Hazelden in his original story Ant Farm, making a satirical statement on the arts industry.

Script Roulette is proudly supported by Arts Centre Melbourne and Ticketek as a part of PLAY.

https://www.artscentremelbourne.com.au/whats-on/2026/festivals-and-series/play/script-roulette

It was a joy to talk to our writer/director and one of the actors about their experience on the day with production, how they interpreted the characters, whether this was based on a true story 👀 and developing partnership during the audio editing process.

'Ant Farm'

Written and Directed by James Hazelden

Voice Actors (in order of appearance)

Recording by Luke Amiet and Kevin Giovanno

Assistant Producer Dragonia

Audio Engineering & Sound Design by Luke Amiet

The Critic played by Tim Wotherspoon

The Writer played by Blake Barnard

The Swat Commander played by Dragonia

Podcast hosting by Finn Moseley & Evrim Şen

Co-created by Evrim Şen with support from Joshua Cowie - Creative Producer at The Channel @ The Arts Centre Melbourne

Timestamps:

(00:00:00) Intro and Acknowledgement of Country

(00:01:34) Host introduction with Finn Moseley & Evrim Şen

(00:04:55) Our Feature Presentation by James Hazelden

(00:16:38) Credits for 'Ant Farm'

(00:17:20) Interview with writer/director featuring Evrim Şen

(00:25:36) Wrap up with Finn Moseley & Evrim Şen

'Not Today' - Apocalypse High

Class is cancelled! A new black comedy, which was over a year in the making, is here to grace our ears, just in time! Not Today, explores what happens when all the structures and dynamics that are meant to keep us safe fail, when a zombie apocalypse starts in a highschool. The student becomes the leader and the teacher needs to grow a spine.

We're so excited to share some amazing new radio play stories from local creatives in Naarm (Melbourne).

Script Roulette is proudly supported by Arts Centre Melbourne and Ticketek as a part of PLAY.

https://www.artscentremelbourne.com.au/whats-on/2026/festivals-and-series/play/script-roulette

This story contains adult themes, course language and violence. Listener discretion is advised. We had so much fun talking to the incredible writer about this story and the timeliness of the themes and ideas explored. The script challenges how we're meant to expect these stories to go and our expectations of those who are meant to have our best interests at heart.

'Not Today'

Written and Directed by Amruta Nargundkar

Voice Actors (in order of appearance)

Priyanka played by Shanu Sobti

Mrs Jayaweera played by Jennifer Dean

PA system announcer played by Marcie Di Bartolomeo

Zombies played by Maria Nordenberg and Benny Redfern

Creative team

Audio engineering by Amruta Nargundkar

Episode arranged by Evrim Şen

Podcast hosting by Finn Moseley & Evrim Şen

Music licensing

Freak Out by OTE (via Epidemic Sounds)

Misery, Killing Me by No Sons of Mine (via Epidemic Sounds)

Sound effects from Epidemic Sounds, Freesound.org, and Pixabay

Co-created by Evrim Şen with support from Joshua Cowie - Creative Producer at The Channel @ The Arts Centre Melbourne

Timestamps:

(00:00:00) Intro and Acknowledgement of Country

(00:01:33) Host introduction with Finn Moseley & Evrim Şen

(00:05:01) Our Feature Presentation by Amruta Nargundkar

(00:15:12) Credits for 'Not Today'

(00:16:23) Interview with writer/director featuring Evrim Şen

(00:28:42) Wrap up with Finn Moseley & Evrim Şen
