[…] But Isaiah 42 verses 1 through 9 are another servant song. And when the Jews were expecting the Messiah, they were not expecting the suffering servant. They were expecting the conquering Messiah. You know, they missed the babe born in Bethlehem. Because for them, the word slave or servant represented their life in Egypt. And by the way, in Greek and in Hebrew, slave and servant are the same word. And sometimes even one of the words for children, child, is also a servant or a slave. But as we look at these verses in chapter 42, verse 1 through 9... I feel like I can learn so much about the Lord's chosen servant. […]
