Testifying to the Truth
Continuing in 1 John 4:1–6, Pastor Matt looks at the call to test the spirits and discern truth from falsehood. He explains how Christians can recognize false teaching by holding firmly to the truth about Jesus Christ, relying on the Holy Spirit, the Scriptures, the church, and the apostolic witness. He also encourages believers to stand confidently in the gospel that has been handed down from the apostles and to remain watchful in a world filled with competing truth claims.

This is How We Know What Love Is
In today's sermon "This is How We KNow What Love Is" John gives us signposts that show we belong to the truth: the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, faith in Jesus Christ, and loving one another. We are called to believe in the name of Jesus Christ, to love not just with words or speech but with actions and in truth, and to set our hearts at rest in His presence.
