It does have a sequel called Sword of Hope 2. Both games were re-released on a single Game Boy cartridge in Japan. And it was also re-released in Japan for the 3DS Virtual Console and the Nintendo Classic Service on the Nintendo Switch. Which is where I finally got to play it for the first time.
