The Spiritual Gifts
Week 4 of Gifted, Who Me? - What if the gifts God has given us are not permanent possessions we carry around, but living expressions of his Spirit available to us in every moment of need? That is one of the most striking insights drawn from 1 Corinthians 12, where Paul describes what are called the manifestation gifts, or the spirituals. These are not personality traits or developed talents. They are direct expressions of the Holy Spirit moving through ordinary people for the common good of the community. From a message of wisdom that cuts through confusion, to gifts of healing that restore what is broken, to the gift of prophecy that strengthens, encourages, and comforts, each of these gifts is given in the moment, for the moment. The original Greek text does not use a definitive article before each gift, which means there is no permanent ownership implied. Instead, we are all invited, in any given situation, to ask what gift is needed right now and trust that the Spirit will provide it. This reframes how we think about our role in the body of Christ. We are not spectators waiting for someone more gifted to step forward. We are each part of a living body, and something is genuinely missing when any one of us holds back. The invitation is to fan into flame what God has placed within us, learner plates and all.Watch at: https://youtu.be/ZALhHCSj84Y

We are Stewards of God's Grace
Week 3 of Gifted, Who Me? - This powerful message explores the transformative concept that our spiritual gifts are not merely abilities we possess, but channels through which God's grace flows to others. Drawing from 1 Peter 4:7-11, we're reminded that everything begins with graceour salvation, our faith, our opportunities, and yes, our gifts. The passage challenges us to see ourselves not as owners of our gifts, but as stewards entrusted with God's varied grace. This shift in perspective is revolutionary: when someone encourages us, we're experiencing God's grace; when someone serves, we're encountering His presence. The Greek word for 'varied' literally means 'many-colored,' painting a beautiful picture of the church as a kaleidoscope where God's single grace refracts through different people in unique ways. We often underestimate our greatest strengths precisely because they come naturally to us, yet these are often our most significant spiritual gifts. The sobering reminder that life is precious and short calls us to actionnot to waste what God has placed in our hands. The ultimate question isn't just 'What gifts have I received?' but 'Who is waiting on the other side of my faithfulness?' Someone is waiting for our encouragement, our compassion, our generosity, our hospitality. Grace is meant to flow, not to be admired or hidden, and when it flows through us, it ultimately returns glory to God.Watch at: https://youtu.be/rhyQiXng2qk

The Ministry Gifts
Week 2 of Gifted, Who Me? - This powerful exploration of spiritual gifts takes us deep into Ephesians 4, where we discover that Christ himself has given the church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers as gifts to equip us for service. What makes this teaching particularly compelling is the reminder that these gifts aren't just ancient historical roles, but living expressions of God's ongoing work in our communities today. We're challenged to consider the difference between foundational gifts and their contemporary expressions - the distinction between capital 'A' Apostles who laid the church's foundation and lowercase 'a' apostles who are still being sent out as messengers today. The heart of this message centers on unity, maturity, and building up the body of Christ through these ministry gifts. We're reminded that speaking truth in love isn't just about correction, but about encouragement and affirmation of the gifts we see in one another. The call to recognize and activate these gifts in our midst isn't optional - it's essential for the church to reach its full potential. When we pray for evangelists to rise up with boldness, or recognize the prophetic voices that help us understand God's heart, we're participating in God's design for a mature, unified church that reflects the fullness of Christ.Watch at: https://youtu.be/hQtuzgtX0-k
