After 5 years of sharing my life online and publishing a weekly podcast, I stopped everything. I started a full-time job and deleted Instagram off my phone.
In this episode, I reflect on building a coaching business during the pandemic, and what happened when the landscape shifted and effort stopped translating into results. I talk honestly about burnout, shame, and the moment I had to admit that the current version of my business was no longer working.
I share how stepping away from social media, choosing stability and accepting a salaried role brought unexpected relief, and helped me reconnect with who I am beyond productivity, visibility, and constant self-promotion.

226. Honest Communication: How to Speak Your Truth (Even When Itâs Hard)
Have you ever said âyesâ when you really meant ânoââjust to avoid a moment of awkwardness? In this episode, we explore how small acts of dishonesty slowly erode connection and self-trust, and why telling the truth (even in tiny moments) is the foundation of authentic relationships.
From declining a business offer to addressing deeper issues in friendships, intimacy, or family, weâll uncover the real cost of silence and people-pleasing. Youâll learn how micro-betrayals build up over time, creating distance where there should be closenessâand how courageously speaking your truth can lighten your spirit, strengthen bonds, and reveal which relationships are truly safe and nourishing.
Iâll share 5 strategies to approach hard conversations with clarity and kindness, plus mantras to help you stay grounded when honesty feels scary. Weâll also talk about what to do if the other person gets upset, and how to know when telling the truth reveals that a relationship isnât aligned with respect or authenticity.
Youâll walk away with:
A new perspective on the hidden cost of dishonesty
A process for finding the words (and the courage) to speak up
Permission to let honesty guide you toward deeper, lighter, more real connections
If youâve ever wondered, âWhat truth am I not telling in my relationships?â â this episode will help you find it, say it, and set yourself free.
