What Being the Strong Friend Is Costing You

Being the strong friend feels like a compliment until you realize you're the one who never gets held. In this episode we're talking about the woman everybody leans on. The one who always has it handled, who never asks for anything, who carries it all and calls it strength. We've both been her, and we're saying the quiet part out loud: being strong doesn't mean carrying everything alone. Receiving support doesn't make you weak, it makes you human. And self love isn't only what you pour out, it's what you let yourself receive.

We get honest about what being the strong friend is actually costing you, whether that's your peace, your rest, or the connection you're secretly craving. We even get into our own struggle with staying consistent in our business, and how having one person who checks in on you changes everything. Then we leave you with one small challenge: ask for help one time this week. Just once.

If you don't have that person in your corner, that's exactly why we built the free Becoming Her community. We'll be the friend who reaches out and asks if you're okay. Come join us: https://lupv8jnutsxjntrqxlpe.app.clientclub.net/communities/groups/becoming-her-commmuiny/home?invite=6a68d333a673e93ce90fe22f

This week's reflection: what is being the strong friend costing you?

The Poverty Mindset Isn't About Money

When you hear poverty mindset you probably think broke. It is not that.

This week we get into the poverty mindset, and it has almost nothing to do with your bank account. It is scarcity. And once you see it, you see it everywhere. In your relationships. In your confidence. In your dreams. In whether you actually let the people around you support you.

Teresa is still learning this one in real time too. She was driving home from a custody pickup studying it the whole way there and back. So this is not us preaching from a stage. It is two friends working it out out loud.

We get into the scarcity statements women say without even noticing (I can't afford that, I don't have enough time, that's not for people like me), why fear is really just false evidence appearing real, and the thing almost nobody admits: we are not scared of failing. We are scared of becoming the woman we have been praying to be.

Sit with this one after you listen. Where in your life are you settling because you believe there is not enough?

Come go deeper with us inside the Becoming Her community: https://lupv8jnutsxjntrqxlpe.app.clientclub.net/communities/groups/becoming-her-commmuiny/home?invite=6a5f9120df25cbea3af3c950

You're Not Lazy, You're Exhausted

You keep calling yourself lazy. But what if you're not lazy at all? What if you're just tired in a way sleep can't fix?

In this episode, Teresa and Shakeisha get honest about the lie so many women were handed: that your worth is tied to how much you produce. So you keep going. And going. Until your body finally makes the decision your mind refused to.

Shakeisha shares the surgery that forced her to stop, and how she realized she'd been confusing discipline with abandoning herself. Teresa talks about the moment everything starts feeling like an emergency, and what that's really telling her.

They get into the signs you're burned out and not lazy, the guilt that shows up the second you sit down, and why rest is not a reward you earn after the list is done. Rest is part of becoming her.

If you've been running on fumes and calling it commitment, this one is for you.

Make sure to follow and leave a review if this conversation was helpful for you.
