70. Embracing the Modern Band Movement, with Tom Zlabinger

<p>Today&#39;s show takes a look at the modern band movement, an increasingly popular force in music education that brings modern styles of music like pop, rock, and hip-hop into the classroom. My guest is Dr. Tom Zlabinger, associate professor of music at New York College, a board member of the Association for Popular Music Education, and the creator of Dr. Tom&#39;s Charts, his unique method of notation for modern band ensembles. We talk about his scores, the modern band movement, and the organizations that support it.
