In the third talk of the Your Kingdom Come series we look at Jesus’ teaching on prayer in Luke 11 and discover how to pray God’s Kingdom come over the very real situations in our lives and in our world.
Jesus teaches us to ask, seek and knock, trusting that our heavenly Father is good and delights to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him. We learnt a simple and honest way to pray Kingdom prayers, and concluded with the invitation to pray: “Come, Holy Spirit.”

Your Kingdom Come (2) - The King has Come
Your Kingdom Come is a new series exploring what Jesus meant when he announced that the Kingdom of God had come near. What did Jesus mean when he said that those who believe in him would do the works ge did, and even greater things? And what would it look like for us to take Jesus at his word?
We’ll look at what the Kingdom is, how Jesus demonstrated it, how we pray for it, and what it means for ordinary people to proclaim and demonstrate the Kingdom in everyday life.
In this second message we discover that the Kingdom is not simply an idea or a future hope, but that the King has come!
Jesus both announced and demonstrated God’s Kingdom through healing, freedom, forgiveness and restoration. When the King comes, things change, and the Kingdom is good news for broken people.
We ended by praying for healing and asking Jesus to bring his Kingdom into our lives and circumstances. If you would like someone to pray with you for healing, please contact sharon@stjohns.org.za and we will arrange for someone to meet with you.

Your Kingdom Come (1) - Seek first His Kingdom
Your Kingdom Come is a new series exploring what Jesus meant when he announced that the Kingdom of God had come near. What did Jesus mean when he said that those who believe in him would do the works ge did, and even greater things? And what would it look like for us to take Jesus at his word?
We’ll look at what the Kingdom is, how Jesus demonstrated it, how we pray for it, and what it means for ordinary people to proclaim and demonstrate the Kingdom in everyday life.
In this first sermon, Jeremy introduces the Kingdom of God through Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:33: “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.” What does it mean to seek God’s Kingdom, to live under his rule, and to trust him with the things we need? We begin by discovering that the Kingdom is not simply somewhere we go one day, it is God’s rule and reign breaking into our lives now.
