   The Gospel Nobody Wants to Preach- Why the Good News Makes No Sense Without the Bad News

   Havewe been preaching a Gospel that promises happiness while forgettingto warn people about sin, judgment, and their desperate need for aSavior? Somewhere along the way, modern Christianity began presentingJesus Christ as the answer to every earthly problem. We're told thatcoming to Jesus will bring happiness, prosperity, success, and atrouble-free life. But is that the Gospel Jesus and His apostles actually preached? In this powerful message from Sermons in the Park,Rev. Jamie McCaskill examines one of the most neglected truths inmodern evangelism: Before we can truly appreciate the GoodNews of Jesus Christ, we must understand the bad news about oursinful condition. Inspired by Ray Comfort's groundbreaking teaching Hell's BestKept Secret, this sermon explores the biblical purpose of God'sLaw, the danger of false conversions, and why the Ten Commandmentsremain such a powerful tool for pointing sinners toward the cross. You'll also hear a deeply personal testimony from my ownministry. While demonstrating Ray Comfort's method of evangelism to a youngman, something happened that I never expected. I was so focused onexplaining the method that I didn't realize the young man was takingthe questions to heart. When I finally noticed what was happening, he was crying andweakly begging me: "Help me." What followed was an opportunity to share the life-changing Gospelof Jesus Christ. That young man later entered drug rehabilitation,and today he's doing better, married, and raising a baby. It's a moment I have never forgotten. And it reminds us of something important: We cannot save anybodythrough our own abilities, clever arguments, or evangelismtechniques. Only Jesus Christ can save a sinner!    Paul: Hijacker of the Gospel—or Captive of Christ?

   Wasthe Apostle Paul a false apostle who hijacked Christianity? Did Paulinvent a different gospel than the one Jesus taught? And if Paul oncepersecuted Christians, why should Christians trust him? These accusations are nothing new—but the Bible itself gives usthe answers. Yes, Saul of Tarsus persecuted Christians. We know. TheBible tells us! Paul himself openly admitted his past. Itwasn't a scandal Christianity tried to hide—it became part ofPaul's testimony to the incredible grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. And what about the claim that Paul wasn't one of the Twelve? Hewasn't—and neither Paul nor the Bible ever claims that he was. Paulwas nevertheless a disciple of Christ and an apostle called to carrythe Gospel to the Gentiles. Then there's the accusation: “You're not really aChristian. You're a Paulian.” There's just one problem with that: Paul himself rejected theidea! “Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were yebaptized in the name of Paul?” — 1 Corinthians 1:13 KJV Paul didn't preach himself. He preached Jesus Christ andHim crucified.
