“When Life Doesn’t Feel Good” [2nd August 2026]
Evening Bible teaching by Alex Vaca on the 2nd August 2026. TEACHING NOTES: 1. God is Good • God's goodness is not just something He does; it is who He is. • Everything God does flows from His perfect character. • Key Verse: Psalm 119:68 – "You are good and do good." 2. What Does "Taste" Mean? • Hebrew: ṭāʿam – to experience, try, or know personally. • God invites us to experience His goodness, not merely know about it. • Christianity is more than information- it is a relationship. 3. What Does It Mean to "See"? • As we experience God, we begin to recognise His goodness. • We learn to view life through God's character rather than our circumstances. • Faith grows through personal experience with God's faithfulness. 4. How Do We Taste God's Goodness? • Trust His Word. • Obey Him even when it is difficult. • Pray and depend on Him. • Run to Him in every circumstance and receive His grace through Jesus Christ. 5. God's Goodness Does Not Mean a Trouble-Free Life • "Many are the afflictions of the righteous..." (Psalm 34:19). • God's promise is not the absence of suffering but His presence and deliverance. • God is with His people in every trial. 6. The Cross Is the Greatest Display of God's Goodness • God's goodness is seen most clearly in Jesus Christ. • At the cross, justice and mercy meet. • Romans 5:8 – "God demonstrates His own love toward us..." 7. Taking Refuge in the Lord • Refuge means resting in God's protection, promises, and salvation. • Christ is our ultimate refuge.
