LESSON 5 | The Unprepared Servant — Are You Ready?

When Time Meets Eternity | Seventh Day Church of God (Reformed) Inc. Are you ready for the return of Jesus Christ—or are you simply planning to get ready someday? In Matthew 25:1–13, Jesus gives us the powerful parable of the ten virgins. Five were wise and prepared. Five were foolish and unprepared. When the bridegroom finally arrived, the difference between them became a matter of eternal consequence. In this lesson, we explore the urgent biblical call to spiritual readiness, personal responsibility, and daily obedience to God. There is a difference between living a prepared life and waiting until the last moment to prepare. Spiritual readiness is not something we should attempt to manufacture when Christ’s return is announced. We must be ready before the moment arrives. The five wise virgins brought extra oil with them. We explore the spiritual significance of maintaining a consistent relationship with God through: 🙏 Prayer 📖 God’s Word ❤️ Obedience 🕊️ Spiritual discipline A relationship with God cannot be maintained through occasional preparation. It requires a daily walk. When the foolish virgins asked the wise virgins for oil, they were told to go and obtain their own. This teaches a critical principle: Spiritual preparation is personal. You cannot borrow your parent’s faith. You cannot borrow your pastor’s relationship with God. You cannot borrow your friend’s obedience. Each person must develop their own relationship with God. One of the greatest dangers facing believers is becoming spiritually comfortable. Distractions can convince us: “There is still plenty of time.” But Scripture calls us to wake up, walk carefully, and redeem the time. 📖 Ephesians 5:14–16 The most sobering moment of the parable comes when the foolish virgins return after the door has been shut. The response is: “I know you not.” — Matthew 25:12 The warning is serious: Delayed obedience can have irreversible consequences. There will come a time when preparation is no longer possible. Ask yourself these three questions every day: Don’t wait for tomorrow to become spiritually ready. Be ready today. Jesus ended the parable with a direct warning: “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” — Matthew 25:13 We don’t know exactly when Christ will return. But we do know that He is coming. The question is not when. The question is: Main Text: Matthew 25:1–13 Key Verse: Luke 12:40 Supporting Scriptures: Ephesians 5:14–16 Matthew 24:42–51 Luke 12:35–40 How do you keep your spiritual lamp filled and trimmed in your daily walk with God? LESSON 4 | Iron, Clay & The Final Kingdom | Daniel 2 & 7

LESSON 4 | Iron, Clay & The Final Kingdom | Daniel 2 & 7 When Time Meets Eternity | Seventh Day Church of God (Reformed) Inc. What happens to the kingdoms of this world when God establishes His everlasting kingdom? In this final installment of our three-part study on Nebuchadnezzar’s prophetic dream, we explore Daniel 2:40–49 and Daniel 7:7–14. The prophecy moves from the strength of iron, to the divided iron and clay, and ultimately to the Stone cut without hands—the divine kingdom that will destroy the systems of human government and stand forever. 168 BC–476 AD The fourth kingdom is represented by iron, symbolizing extraordinary strength and power. We examine the rise of Pagan/Imperial Rome and its place within Daniel’s prophetic sequence. Rome became a dominant world power, breaking, subduing, and conquering nations throughout its expansion. The statue does not end with solid iron. Its feet and toes are a mixture of iron and clay—representing a system possessing both strength and weakness. We explore the fragmentation of the Roman world and the development of divided European kingdoms. The prophecy presents a crucial truth: Human kingdoms may attempt to unite, but they cannot ultimately achieve permanent unity. Daniel 7 introduces another important power arising from the fourth beast. We examine the Little Horn and why Daniel describes this power as being different from the kingdoms that came before it. This section explores the development of Papal Rome as a religious and political power, including the historical transition of authority following the decline of the Western Roman Empire. This is the climax of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. A stone cut without hands strikes the image at its feet and destroys the entire system represented by the statue. The stone then becomes a great mountain that fills the whole earth. What does this supernatural stone represent? The everlasting Kingdom of God. Human kingdoms rise. Human kingdoms fall. Human systems promise peace and security. But ultimately, only God’s kingdom will endure forever. Daniel 2:44 gives us the prophetic conclusion: “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed…” This is the hope at the center of biblical prophecy. The final answer to humanity’s problems is not another human empire. It is the Kingdom of God under Jesus Christ. The first stages of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream give us confidence in what comes next. Gold — BabylonSilver — Medo-PersiaBronze — GreeceIron — RomeIron & Clay — Divided KingdomsThe Stone — God’s Eternal Kingdom As we look back at the fulfillment of the earlier portions of the prophecy, we can have confidence that God’s final promise will also be fulfilled. History is not out of control. God holds the future in His hands. Daniel 2:40–49Daniel 7:7–14 Isaiah 9:6–7 1 Corinthians 15:58 How does the certainty of Christ’s coming Kingdom comfort you in today’s troubled world? Share your thoughts in the comments below. 👇 This concludes our three-part study of Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream. From Babylon to the Kingdom of God, Daniel reveals a remarkable prophetic sequence demonstrating that earthly kingdoms are temporary—but God’s kingdom will stand forever. Keep studying. Keep watching. Keep faithful. The Stone is coming. The Kingdom is coming.
