Compound, Couverture or Bean-to-Bar? What Should You Actually Start With?
Compound, Couverture or Bean-to-Bar — Which One Is Right for You? 🍫
Starting a chocolate business can feel confusing when you’re caught between compound chocolate, couverture, and the exciting world of Bean-to-Bar.
In this episode, I break down the three stages of the chocolate business journey, the pros and challenges of each, and how to choose based on your skills, investment, customers, positioning, and business goals.
Most importantly, you’ll learn why you don’t have to start with the most sophisticated option. You simply need to start with what makes sense for your stage of business today.
Because building a chocolate business isn’t about making it complicated.
It’s about starting simple, learning, growing, and eventually creating something that truly has your heart in it. ❤️

What I Wish I Knew 10 Years Ago About Building a Chocolate Business
As we enter September…
as the festive season begins…
as the markets get busier…
as your WhatsApp fills with enquiries…
as your Instagram fills with competitors…
as advertising gets more expensive…
don't get distracted by the noise.
Go back to your numbers.
Go back to your best products.
Go back to your customers.
Go back to your sales channels.
And ask yourself:
“What is the simplest business I can build that generates strong, healthy cash flow?”
Because I wish someone had asked me that question ten years ago.
Maybe I would have reached some milestones faster.
Maybe I would have made fewer mistakes.
Maybe I would have saved a lot of time and money.
But then again…
perhaps all those mistakes are exactly what gave me the wisdom I have today.
And that is why I believe in mentors.

Festive Season Raw Material Price Hikes — How Can a Small Business Survive Without Blocking Cash?
As we enter the festive season, don't get scared by every price increase.
Don't panic-buy.
Don't overstock.
And don't blindly absorb every increase.
Instead:
Plan your hero products.
Track your raw-material prices.
Buy critical ingredients strategically.
Take advances.
Keep your menu flexible.
Build supplier relationships.
And most importantly—Protect your cash flow.
Because when you're building a business, cash flow is oxygen.
You don't need to have everything sitting in your storeroom.
You need to have enough resources to keep your business moving.
Festive season is an incredible opportunity for a small chocolate business.
But the goal isn't just to have a huge festive turnover.
The goal is to finish the festive season with money in the bank and profit in your business.
Until next time—
Plan smart.
Buy strategically.
Protect your margins.
And always...
