About She Grew Anyway (A Be Still & Grow Production)
A short, soul-steadying podcast for women healing, rebuilding, and becoming.
Each week, Alicia Williams-Saffold shares a quick devotional message, a heart-work assignment, and scripture to help you heal forward — in real life, in real time, and with God.
If you’re in a season of becoming — welcome. This is your healing room.
Sis, we can spend a lot of time trying to understand why someone hurt us, what they did, and how it changed our lives. But what happens when healing starts showing us things about ourselves?
In this episode of the She Grew Anyway podcast, we're continuing our season of The Breaking and talking about the moment our healing journey becomes less about what happened to us and more about what happened within us because of it.
We're talking about the reactions we've developed, the ways we've learned to protect ourselves, and how past hurt can influence the way we show up in relationships today.
This isn't about blaming yourself for what someone else did. It's about allowing God to search your heart, renew your thinking, and help you recognize what you no longer need to carry.
Scripture: Psalm 139:23–24
Healing with God means being willing to look within, even when what we discover is uncomfortable. And sis, recognizing those patterns can be the beginning of learning how to respond differently.
Remember, what hurt you doesn't have to decide how you move for the rest of your life.
Sis, healing has seasons, but God is faithful in every one of them.

Is That You… Or Is That the Hurt?
If you've ever said, “That's just how I am,” without stopping to think about where that part of you came from?
Hurt can change the way we trust, respond, and protect ourselves. After a while, those responses become so familiar that we don't even question them anymore.
In this episode of *She Grew Anyway*, we're talking about recognizing what past experiences may have taught us and allowing God to renew the parts of our thinking that are still influenced by hurt.
Because not everything you learned through pain needs to follow you into your next season.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)

Your Healing Doesn't Have to Wait
What if you never get the explanation?
No apology. No admission. No answer that finally makes everything make sense.
It’s easy to believe healing will come once we understand why it happened or why someone did what they did. But waiting for answers can keep us connected to a situation long after God is ready to begin healing what it left behind.
In this episode of the She Grew Anyway Podcast, Alicia talks about releasing the need to know why, separating what you know from what you’ve assumed, and bringing the part that actually hurt to God.
Psalm 147:3 reminds us, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
Sis, you may never get every answer.
But your healing doesn’t have to wait for one.
