Waging War Against Normal - Episode 2: Toxic Coaches
Unfortunately, whether you're a player, a parent, a coach, or a friendly bystander, we've all been exposed to toxic coaches.
It's a sad state in the soccer culture when this is considered a "normal" part of the competitive experience.
I have helped rehabilitate more players than I care to admit.
Just because this is "normal" doesn't mean it's best.
Healthy boundaries are vital for navigating and cultivating relationships in a healthy way.
What does having a toxic coach teach the players?
This episode shows how we can take RESPONSIBILITY as players, parents, and coaches.
She can, and she will.

Waging War Against Normal: Just Because It's Normal Doesn't Mean It's Best
"That's just how it works."
"That's how I was raised."
"It's totally normal."
Just because it's normal doesn't mean it's best.
Is the current status quo actually the best we can do?
In this Season 3 opener, Coach Jasmine tackles what's considered "normal" in the soccer world and what God has to say about how we should live in it.
The truth is we're in a battle against what's normal, or at least we should be! What are we fighting, and what weapons do we need to win the war?
Get ready to get real...really honest.
We're hitting these issues head on every Wednesday because together we can be the light on a hill and bring light to the dark areas of sport.
She can, and she will.

Episode 6: What Worked and What Didn't Work
Do you tend to judge something you did as either just "good" or "bad?"
When you get asked how you did, do you usually go straight to what you did wrong first?
These habits aren't helping you move forward.
They aren't helping you level up!
They're judgmental and, at best, self-critical, but they don't give you any information on how to fix it, make it better, help repeat what you did right, or stop making that same mistake.
In this episode, Coach Jasmine is ready to coach you up and help you use this key focus phrase to start improving moment to moment, practice to practice, game to game.
You're going to get the tools to start truly coaching yourself!
She can, and she will.
She will rise!

Focus Phrases: Nothing Gets By Me
Do you ever look back at your life or at a game and ask yourself, "How did I get here?"
Then, suddenly, all of the "would've" "should've" "could've" 's come flooding in.
A sad, disappointed feeling hits the pit of your stomach.
Regret.
We usually never just "get here" all of a sudden.
So many times in life and in a game, it's the small decisions day in and day out, moment to moment, that have lead us up to this point.
Winning and losing don't "just happen" in a game, and it doesn't just happen in life either.
Join Coach Jasmine as she helps you tackle the mental and emotional fitness it takes to make every play count and to play courageously.
Decide to not allow anything to slip through the cracks anymore!
Leave it all on the field.
When you're in a defensive posture and the game is on the line, you'll need a focus phrase to help you quiet your mind and unlock your potential.
Take this focus phrase and level up your game on the field and in your life!

Focus Phrases: Nothing Stops Me
What do you do when the spotlight is all on you?
Do you freeze up? Do you overthink it? Do you question yourself?
Thoughts begin to take hold:
"Don't mess up. Don't embarrass yourself. I always make a mistake. I'll never get it right. I can't do this."
When the spotlight is on you, that's the worst time to have your mind swirling with negative, chaotic thoughts.
In this episode, we start to tackle one of the most intimidating moments on the soccer field, 1v1s.
As a coach for 20 years, it's one element of the game I've seen players struggle with the most.
As an achiever, it's the one thought pattern I've seen that causes most goals, dreams, and visions to be sent to the graveyard.
Let's hit this issue head on and start using this key focus phrase to unlock all the possibilities that God has for you!

The Struggle IS Real
Being stuck has a lot to do with not knowing where you're at. Take the time to get honest with yourself about the struggle. Your struggle is very real, but you need to identify and describe where you're at right now in order to move forward. Is the struggle emotional, physical, mental or spiritual? What's your mountain?

Introducing: She Will Rise
Am I going to make it? If you've lived any amount of time on earth, you've been through something. I have climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, trekked to the Dead Sea and played a 90-minute soccer game at both altitudes. I've learned a lot in my journeys, on and off the field, and have made friends along the way. In these episodes, I want to support you through navigating the rough terrain of life and be in the trenches with you. You CAN make it. Because even when all hope seems lost, she can, and she will. She will rise!
