Shirley Baptist Church is a thriving, contemporary evangelical church, with an emphasis on Scripture, faith and mission, working out its purpose in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The last sermon in this series was about a transition from a life without God to a life with God. This week is another transition - from disunity to unity, or from being an outsider to being included. Jesus breaks down the wall of division and brings peace and reconciliation. If last week was about unity with God, this week is about unity among God’s people (Ephesians 2:11-22). We can be divided over much, but what is it that unites us, or rather, who is it that unites us? The answer to that leads to a wider welcome for all!

Do You Know Your Worth to God?
Have you ever played darts? If so, have you ever hit a bullseye? It’s a great feeling when you do! But more often than not, people miss the mark. Interestingly, 'missing the mark' is a good way to describe the word ‘sin’, i.e. failing to meet God's standard. Something we all do - whether we want to admit it or not! And yet, God’s response to our failing to hit His mark is to show love and be rich in mercy. This is ultimately shown by Jesus's sacrifice upon the cross. In doing so, He shows how much we are worth to Him.

Paul wants the church in Ephesus to experience the riches of life in God. Are you?
