[…] Darker colors, yes. It wouldn't be as drastic, but it does change the color. It usually darkens it up more. It takes on more of the color. I wonder if you water popped the plywood, which sounds really funny to say, if it would change the color at all. Can you mix it? Can you do the 5% mixed with a drop of something else? I tried, but the problem is it dilutes the whiteness so that white doesn't get into the grain. You lose that. Which is why, you know, I like that white in the green. So, yeah, I wish I had kind of known about this pre-aging because that probably would have worked. And then I could have put the smoke five over it and the white would have gone into the nooks and crannies. […]
