[…] But the Gringies wanted more. Wait, they wanted more than the extra dollar bucks? Absolutely. The wages were only the start of the battle. The Gringie people realised that not only was it unfair to be underpaid, it was outrageous to be treated that way on land that was stolen from them. That is outrageous. they asked for something that was more important to them, the land that was taken from their forefathers and which they'd worked for the whites with little in return. They were led by Vincent Lingiari. I've heard of Vincent Lingiari. Everyone should know his name. He was one of the people who started the Indigenous land rights movement that's still happening in Australia today. […]
