Episode 18: Use Your Big Boy Words (And Move B**** Get out the Way Part 2)
This week on Short, Sweet, and Petty, Mo is fed up with people treating doctor's offices like their personal speakerphones, while Angie would like Costco shoppers to move their carts and their entire existence OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE AISLE. Listener and Angie's friend Jordan brings us some premium neighborhood pettiness involving a carport approval standoff and a fence that apparently has boundary issues of its own. Then Mo shares some supposedly de-escalating phrases to use during an argument with a man — including “OK, princess” and “use your big boy words.” Spoiler alert: nobody's blood pressure is going down. Finally, Angie declares war on pumpkin spice lattes, and we find out whether she’d rather be too blunt or too sensitive in this week's This or That. Come for the petty, stay for the short and sweet!

Mommy and Daddy Can’t Save you During Soccer, Other Life Lessons, and More Scandalous 80’s Music Lyrics
Description: This week on Short, Sweet, and Petty, Mo is PETTY about parents who haven’t taught their kids to handle things when they go wrong on the soccer field and about people who make commitments, like being a team manager, and then apparently forget what the word commitment means. Angie has her own grievance: fast fashion companies that somehow make the exact same item in different colors fit like completely different articles of clothing. Then Mo makes a case for letting go of the quest for a perfect life and embracing the imperfections, the messiness, and the reality of just being yourself. Angie takes us in a very different direction by revisiting the scandalous lyrics we somehow listened to as children and asks the very important question: WHAT WERE THEY LETTING US LISTEN TO?!
Then we bring it home with THIS OR THAT: ’90s and 2000s girl group edition. En Vogue, TLC, and Salt-N-Pepa go head to head as Mo is forced to choose her favorites. Because apparently we are finally addressing the important issues.

Mom Is Back, and So Are Angie’s First World Problems!
Angie and Mo’s Mom is back, and apparently so is everyone’s ability to find something to complain about. This week, Mom has a grievance about people, including herself, who repeat themselves in converations, Mo is slowly losing her mind over a coworker who clears their throat ALL. DAY. LONG, and Angie has a first class, first world problem involving an overhead bin, a tiny backpack, and one very special beeyotch.
Then Angie, Mo and mom get into their sweet takes (yes, really). Mom talks about loving family time, both together and one on one. Mo reflects on how weird and wonderful it is watching your kids grow into actual people with their own creativity and personalities. And Angie discovers a new favorite word: lalochezia. Naturally, she has already had a personal experience with it with that beeyotch in first class.
Then, in This or That, Mom and Angie face some truly riveting choices: spend an entire day with an annoying person or someone who answers “I don’t know” to everything? Get caught dramatically singing in the car or talking to yourself in public? And, most importantly, reveal the last 10 photos on your phone or your last 10 text messages?
It’s family time. It’s petty. It’s sweet. And apparently, it’s educational.

Episode 15: Jolie Has Entered the Chat!
We’ve got a special guest in the studio! For Episode 15, Mo’s daughter Jolie joins Short, Sweet, and Petty Pod to give us the Gen Z perspective—and, naturally, bring some new material to the petty table. Jolie’s petty grievance: people insisting she said something she absolutely did NOT say. Mo is annoyed by the weirdly sexist vibes of the “compliment circle” on a friend’s daughter’s girls’ soccer team, while Angie has a bone to pick with bike theft on college campuses. In the Sweet segment, Jolie explains why she’s suddenly taking approximately 4,000 selfies now that she has cute hazel contacts. Mo talks about finally seeing TLC, En Vogue and Salt-N-Pepa live—and why the concert was amazing despite sound quality that left a LOT to be desired. Angie shares the “Overheard” Instagram account gives us alternatives to LOL - our favorite it BTUIT (“Bring This Up in Therapy”). Then it’s This or That with Jolie: volleyball, senior year, and the questions everyone asks when you’re the only daughter. Three women. But only one Jolie. Oh, and plenty of petty.

Bathroom Etiquette Part Deux, Movie Nostalgia, Personality Green and Red Flags, and Women of a Certain Age
This week on Short, Sweet, and Petty, we’re covering a little bit of everything—from people having full-blown, very inappropriate phone conversations in the bathroom stalls at work to the absolute chaos of college parent Facebook groups. Then Mo gets a little nostalgic remembering the stupid comedies she loved watching with her cousin, who recently passed away, while Angie gets into the green flags and red flags supposedly hiding in your personality based on your birth month. (Because apparently we can blame our behavior on our birth month now.) Then it’s This or That: Women of a Certain Age Edition: gray hair or dye it ’til you die, look younger or feel younger, look amazing in every picture or never take another awkward photo again, and a spotless house or perfectly organized house.
Petty opinions. Sweet memories. Questionable personality assessments. And the eternal struggle of figuring out what the hell we’re supposed to care about at this age.
Come hang out with us.

Episode 13 is here, and apparently being sisters does NOT mean Angie and Mo think alike! 😂
Mo kicks things off with a petty grievance against movies that somehow exist but cannot be streamed ANYWHERE. Seriously… where did all these movies go?! Angie has her own GPS-related grievance after discovering that apparently even lakes can get a rebrand. Then Angie and Mo tried something new: the viral “Don’t Say the Same Word” challenge. Angie and Mo only matched 3 out of 10 times. So much for sister telepathy. 😂 Angie is absolutely obsessed with her Alfred and Lu “Put This on My Husband’s Tab” sweatshirt — and honestly, that tracks. Angie and Mo wrap things up with a sister-themed round of This or That: Which Sister Would Do This? Find out which one of us is more likely to do what… and prepare to learn just how differently two sisters can think!
Remember: life is SHORT, be SWEET if you want, but always stay PETTY, my friends! 💅

The Petty Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree and Who’s the Favorite Daughter
Angie and Mo are joined by their first guest - their Mom - for a very special episode recorded around Angie’s college drop-off weekend in East Lansing! But don’t worry— Angie and Mo still talked all their normal nonsense!
Their mom starts off with a petty grievance filed against people who miss deadlines and makes her position very clear: a deadline is a deadline, people. No exceptions. Angie files a grievance against men who apparently forget how to use airplane bathrooms, while Mo looks inward and realizes she may need to stop expecting every sports parent to have the same level of experience as she does.
In the Sweet segment, Mo asks the important question: what kind of vacation friend are you? The one who wants to exercise, dance, listen to music, work… or sleep the entire trip away? Meanwhile, Angie shares all the feelings and chaos that come with moving your kid into college.
And in their lightning This or That? round, Angie puts Mom to the test trying to figure out who’s the favorite daughter, then Mo digs a little deeper, asking Mom questions like whether she’d rather have dinner with her past self or future self.
It’s family, petty grievances, college drop-offs, questionable airplane behavior, vacation personalities, and Mom getting the last word—which, honestly, feels exactly right.
Remember - life is short, be sweet if you want, but always stay petty, my friends.

Episode 11: Just Your Dad’s Wife (And Scales in the Doctor’s Office are Evil)
This week, we’re bringing the petty 😂 Mo kicks things off with a Who’s Wrong Here? story about a stepmom who took petty to another level after her stepson reminded her she wasn’t his “real mom”—just his dad’s wife. Meanwhile, Angie filed an official grievance against doctor’s office scales because honestly, why are they so judgy and mean?!
Then things get messy as Mo shares the hilariously rude names people have saved for their baby daddies in their phone contacts, while Angie introduces us to her latest obsession: Dazzle Dry nail polish.
And of course, we wrap things up with a hotel-themed This or That: city view or beach view? Breakfast buffet or venture out? Bathtub or no bathtub? Pool or spa?
Remember: life is SHORT, be SWEET if you want, but always stay PETTY, my friends! 🎙️

Episode 10: Flush It, Shut the F Up & Pass the Burned CD
This week, the Petty is STRONG. Mo is officially over people who apparently never learned how to flush a toilet, while Angie has zero patience for people who think movie theaters are the perfect place for a conversation. Seriously… STFU 🤬 Then Mo brings the heat with her hot take on the things you should NEVER say to short people, while Angie shares why she is absolutely loving The Odyssey.
Then it’s time for another round of This or That with some Gen X nostalgia! 📱 Flip phone or iPhone? Printing pictures or having 47,000 photos on your phone? Burning a CD or making a Spotify playlist? Mall shopping or online shopping? MapQuest or GPS?
Come for the grievances, stay for the nostalgia, and remember: life is SHORT, be SWEET if you want, but always stay PETTY. 😏

Mailman Mayhem, Annoying Bottle Tabs & A College Football Showdown
This week on Short, Sweet & Petty, Angie and Mo are filing complaints and making no apologies.
Mo shares the "nasty gram" her mail carrier left after the garbage cans blocked the mailbox (spoiler alert: she didn't even put them there), while Angie declares war on those impossible-to-peel white tabs that seem to be glued onto every bottle and container. Then Mo makes the case that brunch isn't just the best meal—it's the best lifestyle and should be served seven days a week. Angie gives a rave review of Cakes bras and explains why they've become one of her favorite finds. Then Angie closes out the episode with a college football-themed this or that, where Angie asks Mo if she’d rather keep her star quarterback for four years or watch him transfer after one? Beat Ohio State or lose to them but win a national championship? And the toughest question of all: go 11–1 but lose to Ohio State, or finish 6–6 and beat the Buckeyes?
Remember—life is short, be sweet if you want, but always stay petty, my friends.

Stop burping in the office, Put some shoes on dammit & Pass the Trapper Keeper
This week on Short, Sweet & Petty, we're wondering if common courtesy has officially left the building. Mo calls out the grown men acting like they were raised in a barn—from office burping to UPS line cutters—while Angie has had enough of barefoot hotel lobby wanderers and people who take forever to back out of a parking space. Mo then recommends Jameela Jamil's new podcast Wrong Turns, and Angie gives a well-deserved shout-out to one of life's unsung heroes: hotel bartenders who know that a generous pour is good customer service. Mo and Angie end this episode with some Gen X nostalgia as Mo puts Angie through a rapid-fire "This or That." MTV or VH1? Tapes or CDs? Mall food court or McDonald's drive-thru? Trapper Keeper or Five Star notebook? If you grew up in the '80s and '90s, this one's for you.
Remember—life is short, be sweet if you want, but always stay petty, my friends.
This week, Mo and Angie are feeling extra petty. Mo vents about the embarrassment of a tap-to-pay fail and the cashier instantly treating her like she’s a brokie, while Angie can't understand why anyone thinks it's okay to ride around with their feet on the dashboard.
On the sweet side, Mo delivers a hot take that might start a smoothie war: Smoothie King beats Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
Then it's time for Short, where Angie quizzes Mo with a "Daily Habits" edition of This or That. Do you make your bed every morning? Wash the dishes before bed? Keep a paper to-do list or live in your Notes app? It's the little habits that say a lot.
Remember—life is short, be sweet if you want, but always stay petty, my friends.

🎙️ Team Quitters, Creepy Songs, Michigan Legends, and Throwing Mom Under the Bus!
This week, Mo and Ang have thoughts... and they're not holding back. Mo can’t understand people who join team sports only to quit when things get inconvenient, while Ang makes the case that the 80s classic My Sharona is way creepier than anyone remembers. Then, Mo shares what it was like meeting Jim Harbaugh, and Ang discovers how many cultures celebrate menopause as the beginning of a powerful new chapter instead of treating it like the end. And then Mo finishes off with a food and drink "This or That?” featuring tough choices like Wine or vodka? Tapas or Thai? And whether Mom's infamous spinach egg bake stands a chance against a spinach and cheese omelet? (Sorry, Mom... you're catching strays this week.)
Life is short. Be sweet if you want. But always stay petty.

To wrap things up, Angie puts Mo through a lightning-round parenting edition of This or That, with impossible choices like paying for college applications or another season of travel sports, and surviving toddler tantrums versus teenage attitude.
