Sheik Mufty Yassin – The Deception of Shaytan – 10/16/2026
From Masjid Darul Haq – (Columbus, OH)
Shaytan is not a force of raw power—he is a master of deception. This khutbah exposes the subtle and dangerous tactics the accursed one uses to mislead the children of Adam.
The imam explains that Shaytan does not always come with blatant evil; often, he beautifies sin, makes it seem harmless, or convinces us to delay our repentance. He whispers that we have plenty of time, that our minor sins don't matter, and that Allah's mercy means we can do as we please. Yet these are the very lies that lead to ruin.
Drawing from the Qur'an and Sunnah, the khutbah reminds us that Shaytan is our open enemy, and his primary goal is to drag us into the Hellfire with him. But Allah has given us the weapons to defeat him: sincere remembrance (dhikr), seeking refuge in Allah, staying close to the Qur'an, and surrounding ourselves with righteous company. A powerful and eye-opening reminder to stay vigilant, recognize the whispers, and seek protection from the deceiver.

Sheik Amin A. Jalloh – Self Accountability – 10/16/2026
From Masjid ul Bayyinah – (Columbus, OH)
Before we are held accountable on the Day of Judgment, we must learn to hold ourselves accountable in this life. This khutbah explores the profound Islamic concept of muhasabah—taking account of one's own soul, actions, and intentions.
The imam reminds us that a wise believer is his own harshest critic. He examines his day before he sleeps: What did I earn? What did I spend? Did I draw closer to Allah today, or did I fall short? The one who takes account of himself in this world will find the accounting on the Day of Judgment much lighter. But the one who lives heedlessly, ignoring his flaws and justifying his mistakes, will face a severe reckoning.
Drawing from the Qur'an and Sunnah, this sermon calls us to pause, reflect, and evaluate our lives. It is an invitation to stop looking at the faults of others and to turn the mirror on ourselves. A powerful and humbling reminder that true success begins with self-awareness and sincere repentance.

Br. Ibrahim Diallo – Purifying Ourselves from the Inside Out – 10/09/2026
From Masjid Darul Haq – (Columbus, OH)
True purification begins within. This khutbah explores the journey of cleansing the heart and soul from the inside out, reminding us that outward acts of worship mean little if the inner self remains corrupt.
The speaker draws on the powerful hadith of the three men trapped in a cave by a massive rock. With no way out, they turned to Allah, each supplicating by recalling a righteous deed he had done purely for Allah's sake. One honored his elderly parents above all else. Another resisted forbidden desire out of fear of Allah. The third fulfilled a trust with absolute honesty, returning wealth that had been left in his care. With each sincere plea, the rock shifted—until finally, they were freed .
The lesson is profound: sincere deeds done for Allah alone carry immense weight. They become a means of nearness to Him in times of distress. The khutbah calls us to examine our intentions, to purify our hearts from showing off, and to build a storehouse of hidden good deeds that we can present to Allah when we need Him most. A powerful reminder that the purest deeds are those known only to Allah.
