About Simple Truth

Welcome to the “Simple Truth” Podcast. I am Lacey Whittaker, your host. I want to speak clearly and passionately about my love for Jesus and what I believe He is saying to both of us. I am a wife and a mother. We reside in Missouri. I am an author of 12 Christian books. I am the founder of Yahweh Academy, a small Christian school here in our hometown. We have a ministry called True Love Ministries, that is the heart of what we do and what we stand for. I would love to share all these things with you in the hope they can encourage you and help you along on your own journey. You can expect in these episodes to come lots of prayer. Most of my books are written prayers. I have a 55-day devotional that I would love to go through as well. I will be speaking on all kinds of things we all go through: fear, anxiety, worry, loneliness, marriage, health, sickness, trials and tribulations, my testimony, compassion, forgiveness and so much more. I want to share the process of starting a private school and having the determination to overcome the challenges that come with it. Thank you for joining me as we embark on this beautiful journey together.

   The start of Yahweh Academy

Hey everyone. Today I just wanted to share how Yahweh Academy started. In 2022, probably mid-year, we were sitting in prayer and my mom had a vision and said, we're going to have a school.  And I thought, wow, that sounds really crazy because I would never want to be a teacher or work in a school but never say never. In October 2022, I left my job for full time ministry. Full time ministry to me is being intent as a godly mother and wife. I was also writing books and having prayer gatherings. Being home was amazing, but my youngest daughter Liv wanted to be home with me too. So, that was kind of hard sending her to school every day, knowing she would rather be at home with mom. December 2022, Liv was at school, and she had gotten really sick. And after that, she struggled to go back. She would be so upset to go to school each day and just kept asking for me to homeschool her. As a mom, I thought, there's no way I could do homeschool. I don't have it in me. I'm not gifted to homeschool you. So, I let it go. I let it go and let it go all while God was working this plan out, and I just had to surrender and say yes. So, January comes, and they're getting ready to go back to school, and she was still not having it.  So, I talked to my husband, and he was a little leery on pulling her from public school. Probably because he knew I was going to be her teacher, honestly.  But we prayed about it, and we felt God said, this is the time. Let's homeschool her for a semester. I felt like Liv went through major anxiety. It was an awful six months. This anxiety had started in December, and she just couldn't overcome it. It was just so present every day. It was awful, but He brought something very, very good out of it that I would have never probably said yes to if it wasn't for my baby girl, honestly. So, we prepared. We looked into other micro schools. We went and visited them. Honestly, I didn't even know what a micro school was. I didn't even think it would be possible to start a school, but I was saying yes. All I knew was to say yes to God and what he had in store. And he just put it on my heart that these schools will be needed. So needed now and in the future. So, we launched Yahweh Academy in August of 2023, and it has been a beautiful thing. He brought us the best teacher to lead and teach the precious children we have. Just seeing the students come in.  They love coming and starting their day in prayer and devotion with the Bible. The curriculum is Bible based. It's just a beautiful thing to see what God has done here. We are a year and a half in with 12 students and growing. Please pray for the future of this school and all the other schools God is wanting to open. Thanks again, and I love that you are here to listen to Simple Truth. Go low and stand your ground

How do you go low and stand your ground at the same time? It takes surrender. It takes knowing Jesus very well and using the discernment given to you. It takes staying out of your flesh desires and staying in the desires of the Lord. Wanting God's heart above all. Seeking Him. Seeking His ways. Psalms 105:4 says, Seek the Lord in His strength. Seek His face evermore. He has called us to do hard things. Standing your ground isn't always easy, but He will give you the strength to do what He has called you to do. Going low in prayer. Worship. Repentance. It is all about how you surrender to God. Humility Matthew 23:12 says, and whoever exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Is He the one that makes the calls or do you? Let Him in. Let Him be the one guiding you and leading you when you have to stand up and do hard things. It is truth. I love truth. I despise nonsense. It really just agitates me more than anything else. We also have to know the timing of the Lord. We have to know, is this my flesh or is this the Holy Spirit that is asking me to say or do something? Ephesians 6:13 says, Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. We have all the keys we need right at Jesus' feet. Today, if you are having trouble standing your ground, I ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and strength to believe. Thanks again, and I love that you are here to listen to Simple Truth. Give it to Jesus

Giving it all to Him is hard sometimes. It's hard to really let go of the control and give it to Jesus. Give it all to me, I hear Jesus say. Be free. Be totally, completely free. Be free today, always. Be fully set free. What are you holding on to? Maybe you are giving some of it to Him, but still feel that unease. Maybe you haven't given anything to Him and are in full anxiety. What do you need to let go of? What do you need to be set free from? It could be something as simple as what happened in your day, or it could be something you have been holding onto for weeks. Maybe it's something that happened a month ago and you just can't seem to shake it. Give it to Him today. Take the peace He generously gives when we lay it all at His feet. Take it. Walk free. 1 Peter 5:7. Casting all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you. John 8:36 says, So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Thank God for this. Anxiety and fear can cripple us. This is a normal thing when you do not release. It can take our life and destroy it. It can make us become numb. Don't let it any longer. Jesus, I ask a special blessing over anyone struggling with not giving that problem or person to you today. I ask that you come in and let them hear and feel you. Let them know you want to take their burden and pain. I ask this in Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Thanks again, and I love that you are here to listen to Simple Truth.
