What makes a place feel like home?
Is it being able to walk to coffee, restaurants, parks, and people you know?
Or is it land, privacy, quiet, and enough space that your neighbor can't see your house?
This week, Meredith and Wendolyn talk about the surprisingly big impact of where we live—from climate and neighborhood design to community, family, home size, outdoor space, and even the way couples decide where their money goes.
They also discover, once again, that their ideal lives look very different.
The bigger question:
Does your environment support the life you actually want to live?
Because your home isn't just where your life happens.
It helps shape it.

I Know I Should... But I Don't | Ep. 58
You know that thing you keep saying you should do?
Work out. Call someone. Try something new. Take better care of yourself. Make the appointment. Leave the house. Stop doing the thing you don't even like doing anymore.
And yet... you don't.
This week, Meredith and Wendolyn start with a few "Would You Rather" questions and somehow end up in a much bigger conversation about motivation, fear, discipline, discomfort, ADHD, self-care, trying new things - and why knowing what's good for us isn't always enough to make us do it.
Sometimes the issue isn't laziness. Sometimes the thing is too big, too vague, too uncomfortable, or we're convinced there's only one right way to do it.
The Simply 1% this week: change one variable. Make it smaller. Bring someone with you. Try a different version. Or just see what happens when you do one familiar thing a little differently.
And ask yourself: What keeps me where I am - and what might help me move?

You’re More Disciplined Than You Think | Ep. 57
Sometimes you watch a random social media video and accidentally end up questioning your entire personality.
That is basically what happened here.
This week, Meredith and Wendolyn try something different: they watch social media clips and react in real time. What starts with an extremely committed rollerblader turns into conversations about discipline, fear, parenting, inherited patterns, red flags, relationships, goals, and why some people seem able to devote themselves completely to one thing.
Meredith starts by wondering why she has never stuck with one hobby long enough to become exceptional at it. But as the conversation unfolds, they realize something:
Discipline doesn’t always look like getting up at 5 a.m., training for Everest, or becoming an expert at one skill.
Sometimes discipline looks like saying no to something because you want something else more.
Sometimes it looks like working through your own anxiety so you don’t hand it to your children.
Sometimes it looks like protecting time for the people you love.
Sometimes it looks like making decisions today that support the life you want later.
And sometimes the thing you assumed was missing from you has been there all along — just in a different form.
Your 1% this week:
Ask yourself:
What is my rollerblading?
What matters enough to you that you already make sacrifices, decisions, or commitments around it?
You may be more disciplined than you think.
