   Chandni Kantaria

In this episode of Sisters in Colour, we sit down with Chandni — Advanced Care Paramedic, advocate, and passionate voice for equity, diversity and inclusion in healthcare. Working with the Queensland Ambulance Service, Chandni has also stepped into a Senior Advisor role within the Fair and Inclusive Practice Unit, contributing to cultural change and helping shape more inclusive workplaces and services. Her work is grounded in a strong belief that healthcare should be culturally competent, representative of the communities it serves, and built with the voices of the people most affected at the table. In this conversation, we explore representation in healthcare, meaningful inclusion, co-design, cultural change and the importance of creating systems where people feel seen, respected and understood. Chandni also speaks about the values that guide her beyond the workplace — from advocating for vulnerable communities to treating children with kindness, dignity and respect. This is a conversation about using your voice, challenging the status quo and creating change that goes beyond policy — into the way people are treated, supported and cared for.

   Seyi Akosile

In this episode of Sisters in Colour, we sit down with Seyi Akosile, lawyer, educator, community leader and Director of Yoruba School Australia. Qualified to practice law in both Australia and Nigeria, Seyi brings nearly two decades of professional experience alongside a deep commitment to preserving Yoruba language, culture and identity. At Yoruba School Australia, she leads curriculum development and teaching, helping create a space where children, families and communities can learn the language while building a stronger connection to their heritage. A native Yoruba speaker from Ilé-Ifẹ̀, Seyi’s passion for language goes far beyond communication. For her, language carries history, belonging and identity, and passing it on is an important part of ensuring culture continues to thrive across generations. Through education and community engagement, Yoruba School Australia is helping make that connection accessible to people both in Australia and beyond.

Nora and Christine (Navigating Breast Cancer)

Breast cancer does not end when treatment ends. For Christine Mudavanhu and Dr. Nora Amath, the real battle is learning how to live, lead, and restore yourself in the long stretch of survivorship, when the scans are done, the surgeries are over, and the exhaustion still lingers. Christine and Nora return to continue their deeply personal conversation about chronic illness, executive leadership, and what it really means to rebuild after the acute phase of breast cancer. They unpack the shock of expecting to “bounce back,” only to discover that healing can take years, that hormone blockers and major surgeries reshape daily life, and that strength is no longer about pushing through at all costs. You'll discover: Why survivorship is a whole new chapter, not a finish line How high-performing women often turn survival into self-criticism The difference between performative resilience and true restoration Why boundaries, rest, and saying no are acts of leadership How Christine and Nora use the 7 R’s framework to guide their coaching and retreat work Christine shares how cancer forced her to rethink her identity, capacity, and the pressure of always being the one who holds everything together. Nora opens up about the emotional whiplash of surviving treatment while still feeling depleted, and how she learned to stop measuring her worth by how much she could carry. Together, they break down the practical and emotional lessons that emerged from their journey, from listening to your body, to reframing urgency, to building a life that honours both ambition and recovery. They also introduce their Restore wellness retreat and Sisters in Colour coaching program, created to support women navigating chronic illness, leadership, and the need to pour back into themselves. They also get honest about what conventional cancer care often leaves out, including nutrition, movement, nature, prayer, and the power of culturally grounded healing. From “gift day” instead of chemotherapy day to the role of First Nations healing circles, this episode expands the conversation beyond medicine into whole-person restoration. This is essential listening if you’re a woman carrying too much, healing from too much, or learning that rest is not weakness. Christine and Nora offer a powerful reminder that your capacity is finite, your well-being is non-negotiable, and your next chapter can be built with more intention, compassion, and clarity than the last.
