"Neil Was a Pimp, Ya Know?"

This week on Sit, Talk, and Listen, we welcome Kris, the banjo-slinging member of Rob’s band, for a journey through relationship statistics, questionable rabbit holes, and the noises that make us want to unplug our ears. 😂We break down the numbers behind relationships (and naturally overthink absolutely everything), celebrate famous #72s, including the legendary “Fridge,” and travel back to 1872 and 1972 to see how the headlines and prices compare to today. Spoiler: your money used to go a lot further! Then it’s National Days, featuring octopuses and tags, before we build our Mount Rushmores of the most unsatisfying sounds known to mankind. Finally, Xavi hits us with a Would You Rather: gain height or retain sight? Because apparently, we can’t just end an episode normally. Thanks for listening! Chime in with your answers, your favorite #72, and the sounds that make your skin crawl. We want to hear from you! 🎙️

   "Big "Look at me" Move"

The boys recap their Chicago trip, including a trip to Wrigley Field where Xavi experienced every possible emotion known to mankind. We hit the headlines from 1871 and 1971, celebrate Smile Day and Name Your Car Day, and hear Xavi’s way-too-late NFL predictions. Then it’s the Mt. Rushmore of Trash Behavior, followed by another ridiculous round of Xavi’s Would You Rather. Baseball, football, history, bad behavior, and Xavi making predictions after the results are basically in. What could go wrong? Besides everything.

   "David and the Technicolored Dreamcoat"

We made it to Episode 70, and somehow we're still allowed to have microphones. This week, Rob returns from his trip to Branson and Silver Dollar City with stories, memories, and—most importantly—an excuse to talk about theme park food. That sends us down the delicious rabbit hole of the most popular theme park foods, because nothing says “family vacation” quite like spending $14 on something that came out of a fryer. Since it's Episode 70, we take a trip through the '70s, including famous 70s, the headlines from 1870 and 1970, and a look at some of the biggest hit songs released in 1970. Prepare yourself for nostalgia, questionable historical knowledge, and plenty of “Oh yeah, I remember that one!” moments. We then check out the national days for August 21st, including National Sweet Tea Day and National Fantasy Football Draft Day—two holidays that pretty much explain why America is the way it is. We also talk a little Cardinals baseball and check in on what's happening around the sports world. Then comes the main event: Mount Rushmore of Satisfying Sounds. Four sounds get the honor of being carved into the mountain, while countless others are left wondering what they did wrong. This one gets surprisingly passionate for a topic that involves things like noises. Finally, Xavi brings us home with another Would You Rather question, because apparently ending an episode peacefully was never an option. Thanks for listening to Sit, Talk, and Listen! If you enjoyed the episode, make sure to subscribe, share it with your friends, and come back for more questionable opinions, random facts, and conversations that somehow turn into a podcast.
