Six Feet Under Appreciated Podcast: Episode 8 “Crossroads” Rewatch (Rico at Kroehner, Nate & Brenda, David’s New Date, Claire’s Camp Twist) Andrew and Lauren return to the Six Feet Under Appreciated podcast to rewatch Episode 8, “Crossroads,” starting with the death of divorced Chloe Ann Bryant Jorgen, killed when she stands through a limo sunroof and hits a sign. They discuss Rico freelancing at Kroehner for money during Fisher & Sons’ dry spell, Nate catching him taking supplies, and the confrontation where Rico asks to be a partner and David shuts him down. Nate studies for his funeral director exam and proposes renting space to a square-dance group, leading to David’s dream sequence and a date with the forward instructor Kurt. The hosts also unpack Nate’s escalating conflict with Brenda after her nude houseguest Connor, Ruth’s fantasies about Nikolai versus Hiram, and Claire’s Sierra Crossroads trip, where stereotypes collapse after she discovers the guide with Parker, gets sent home, and concludes “everything I think I know is wrong.”

Episode 10 - The New Person
Six Feet Under Episode 10 Recap (“The New Person”): Angela the Embalmer, Billy’s Gallery Spiral, and Claire & Gabe Fallout
Andrew and Lauren recap Six Feet Under episode 10, “The New Person,” opening with a darkly comic death in which a wife kills her boring husband with a frying pan. At Fisher & Sons, Nate and David interview embalmers and hire Angela, a talented but nonstop-talking, boundary-pushing “new person” who unnerves everyone; Ruth’s broken sherry glass gives them a reason to fire her. The title also ties to Brenda, Nate, and Billy as Billy’s gallery show features a photo of Nate peeing on a wall, revealing Billy has been following him and prompting Brenda to side with Billy. Billy escalates into a breakdown—breaking into Dr. Feinberg’s office, stealing files, and dumping them into a pool—while his parents push for treatment and Brenda resists. Claire grows clingy with Gabe, learns his “dad visit” is a lie, fears he may harm himself, and confides in Nate. David reconnects with Keith through church volunteering, but a tentative reunion falls apart when David pushes for sex. Ruth dates Nikolai, meets a woman tied to his past, and realizes she doesn’t want to jeopardize the job that finally feels like her own.

They discuss Nate and David clashing over open vs. closed casket motivations, Nate’s attempts to prove himself after failing his funeral director exam, and David’s nightlife exploration with Kurt, including an awkward run-in with Keith and David setting boundaries. Nate and Brenda’s relationship deepens at dinner, then derails into “funeral shopping” role-play that exposes Brenda’s taste for drama and Nate’s fear of death. Ruth’s camping trip with Hiram turns surreal after she unknowingly takes David’s pills, leading to a vision of Nathaniel that eases her guilt.
