The Skies of Jersey is a streaming radio show and podcast dedicated to covering the UFO/UAP phenomenon from a distinctly New Jersey perspective. The name is an homage to both the lyric "somewhere in the swamps of Jersey" from the classic Springsteen song, Rosalita, as well as the Lifetime song which took the lyric as its title. Host Scott Shields is a native New Jerseyan who's been following the phenomenon since childhood and finally feels confident enough to not only entertain these previously whispered conversations and speculations out loud, but to actually open them up to the rest of the world. Premiers at midnight every Friday on Radio Garden State, we invite you down the rabbit hole to explore the latest news and research about exactly what IS going on somewhere in the skies of Jersey.

Episode 017: Jay Stratton Comes Out of The Shadows
We open this week's episode with a very surprising revelation from the James V. Forrestal Papers archived by the Princeton University Library. Did MJ12Logic find evidence that Forrestal was indeed at the Aztec, NM UFO crash site in 1948?
Additionally, we start examining "Out of the Shadows," the new memoir by former UAP Task Force leader Jay Stratton, released earlier this week. Stratton is the highest-level figure to share (some of?) what he knows about the UFO/UAP phenomenon while giving readers important insight into the Legacy Program as well as the structures ensuring secrecy around it. It feels like the disclosure moment is about to enter a new phase.

Episode 014: The Flying Saucer Talk, 1952
On this week's episode of Skies of Jersey, we take a deep dive into the Pentagon's sixth tranche of UFO documentation. We feature the core of the 1952 "Flying Saucer Talk" presented by Air Force officer Edward J. Ruppelt, the director of two of the Pentagon's early forays into ufology, Project Grudge and Project Blue Book. We analyze and feature the audio recording and give it its proper context within the disclosure moment. We review the rest of the videos in tranche six AND discuss the recent Tehran "UFO" sightings. With no expected sixth tranche of UAP documents being released by the Pentagon in early September 2026, we dive into some recent news about drone sightings at an air force base in Australia and what connection that might have to earlier drone swarms in New Jersey and elsewhere. We also break down journalist Ben Schreckinger's appearance on Breaking Points where he talks about his coverage of the phenomenon, as well as co-host Ryan Grim's insistence that we all now know what the 2024 sightings in New Jersey were really all about. In addition to the latest news on the topic, we sat down with our favorite possible guests to get their perspective and thoughts about the current disclosure moment. Episode 008: The Phantom Swarm Over New Jersey, 2024 – feat. John Malaska
Researcher John Malaska joins Skies of Jersey for an eye-opening discussion of his excellent Substack series. In Phantom Swarm, Malaska analyzes tens of thousands of state and local government records related to the 2024 drone flap. Lights were were spotted in the sky across all corners of New Jersey, and while many had very simple and easy explanations, some did not. And some of those were encountered and investigated in real time by local law enforcement. Utilizing New Jersey's Open Public Records Act (OPRA) framework, John has become the chief public archivist and analyst of the late 2024 drone phenomenon. We were thrilled to have him on the show to highlight and discuss his work.

Episode 007: The Killing of an Alien in the Pine Barrens, 1978
On the night of January 18, 1978, a dozen UFOs were spotted on radar over Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Burlington County, New Jersey. One of these craft broke off and either landed or crashed at Fort Dix. An MP assigned to check it out got much more than he bargained for. We dig into multiple reports from this event, including the official New Jersey State Police incident report.

For our July 4th episode, we dig into some wild sightings of a few of our favorite classes of UFOs. You like metalic orbs? We got 'em! We take a look at both the Betz sphere to the Buga sphere. You like plasma orbs and fireballs? We've got those too, with an examination of a late 2024 video from right here in Toms River. And Chris Smith, who Represents Toms River in Congress has recently introduced an amendment to the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act demanding a full, unclassified report on what the US Government knows about the 2024 drone flap. We also look into reports of a jellyfish drone swarm being present for the take down of a US F-15 over Iran. Any relation to the jellyfish-style UAP already associated with West Asia?
