Skin Logic examines how skin was pushed into conflict—and what becomes possible when we begin working with it as a living system.

I’ve been thinking about how much the meaning of results has changed in skincare.
Somewhere along the way, the conversation shifted from how well skin was functioning to how much its appearance could be changed.
That distinction matters.
Because when the appearance of skin becomes the primary measure of success, its biological needs can easily become secondary.
In this short video, I’m sharing why I believe it’s time to reconsider what meaningful results actually look like — and how understanding skin’s biology offers a different place to begin.
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts. Has the way you define healthy skin changed over the years?

Looking Beyond the Existing Model
What if the changes you’re noticing in your skin aren’t simply problems to correct?
Maybe you’ve tried different products, treatments, or approaches and still wonder why your skin isn’t responding the way you expected. Or maybe you’ve started to question whether doing more is really the answer.
I found myself asking similar questions in my treatment room years ago. The answers I’d been taught no longer fit what I was seeing, so I had to look beyond them.
In this first episode of Season 2, I share where that search led me and how it changed the way I understand skin.
Because sometimes, the first step toward caring for skin differently is learning to see it differently.
Want to better understand what your skin may be telling you?
I offer a focused 30-minute Skin Consultation where we can begin looking at what you're experiencing and what your skin may be telling you.

How Do You Know When Skin Has Been Pushed Too Far?
For eight episodes, we’ve explored how skincare gradually became centered on correction.
In this season finale, we arrive at one of the most important observations from my years in the treatment room:
What if many of the changes we’ve accepted as normal aren’t signs of aging or progress... but signs of skin exhaustion?
This episode may change the way you interpret what your skin has been trying to tell you.

Why More Treatments Don't Fix Skin—They Exhaust It
We’ve been taught to believe that if our skin isn’t improving, it simply needs more attention—another product, another treatment, another solution.
But what if the problem isn’t that the skin isn’t doing enough?
What if it’s that we’ve been asking it to do too much?
After decades of observing skin in clinical practice, I began noticing a pattern that was difficult to ignore. The skin wasn’t just responding to individual treatments—it was struggling under the cumulative weight of continual demands. What often appeared to be a new skin concern was, in many cases, a skin that had never been given the opportunity to fully recover.
In this episode of Skin Logic, we explore a question that’s rarely asked in modern skincare:
What does continual correction actually ask of the skin?
Because before we assume the answer is another treatment, it’s worth asking whether the skin has simply been working without rest for far too long.

Dependency by Design
There comes a point when many people stop asking whether a product is helping and start wondering whether they can stop using it at all.
After decades of working with skin, I began noticing something that concerned me. More and more people believed their skin couldn’t function without continual products and treatments. If they stopped, everything seemed to come back.
In this episode of Skin Logic, we explore how skincare gradually shifted from choice to necessity—how the pursuit of improvement became a cycle that was increasingly difficult to escape.
Because when correction becomes continual, perhaps the most important question isn’t what else the skin needs—but why it no longer feels able to function without it.

When Skincare Started Working Against Skin
Sensitive skin was once considered relatively uncommon.
Now chronic redness, burning, irritation, reactivity, and inflammation have become increasingly normalized.
But what if these reactions are not simply random skin problems?
What if they are signs of skin that has been pushed beyond its ability to compensate?

The Culture of Overcorrection
Episode 4 explores the rise of overcorrection within modern skincare culture — when stronger peels, aggressive resurfacing, and continual treatment increasingly became associated with progress. As anti-aging philosophy expanded beyond the treatment room and into everyday skincare, irritation, inflammation, and visible skin reaction were often normalized as part of the process. But what happens when the skin is continually pushed beyond its capacity to recover?

The Birth of Anti-Aging Thinking
In Episode 3, we look at the origins of anti-aging culture and the shift that transformed aging into a condition requiring intervention. This episode explores how authority, correction, and fear gradually reshaped the way skin — and aging itself — came to be understood.
