   93. All Things Acne Acids: Mandelic, Salicylic, Glycolic, Lactic & Azelaic Explained

Happy Tuesday, STT Fam! This week we’re breaking down the acids everyone keeps asking about for acne-prone skin: glycolic, lactic, mandelic, salicylic and azelaic. Nichola explains the real difference between an AHA and a BHA, why molecule size matters, and where azelaic fits in (spoiler: it’s not technically either!). We get into the biggest mistakes people make with acids (hello, five actives at once), why Nichola isn’t a glycolic girl, and why mandelic has become her desert island acid. She also shares how to tell normal pinking from irritation, why fall is a great time to introduce an acid in NYC, and her product picks, including the Lilac + Flint mandelic serums (5%, 8% and 11%), the Neogenesis mandelic, and our new 2% salicylic toners. We wrap with our rapid fire, “This FOR That,” covering blackheads, body acne, dark marks, hormonal chin breakouts, pregnancy and more. Want a part two on hyaluronic, hypochlorous and beyond? DMs are open! Book a virtual consultation with Pacific Touch to find the right acid for your skin. Available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts

   92. Acne-Prone Skincare Routine Swaps: Oil Cleansers, Salicylic Toners, Mandelic Acid + More

Happy Tuesday, STT Fam! Last week we told you what’s going on with Rococo Botanicals, and this week Nichola walks through exactly what to use instead, one routine step at a time. If you’ve been nervously eyeing your last bottle of Eruption Emulsion… this is your episode. We cover the acne-safe swaps for your Rococo cleansing oils and Ruby cleanser, why PT is bringing in 2% salicylic acid toners (and how to use them without overdoing it), the hydrating alternative to Ceramide Booster, our mandelic and azelaic plan for former Mandelic + Fusion users, and how to replace Eruption Emulsion and Skin Nectar with a moisturizer plus targeted support. Nichola also gets honest about the one product that’s been hardest to replace (the sulfur mask), and why “pinking up” after a treatment isn’t always a bad thing. Plus, Nichola shares the mindset course that has her rewiring how she talks to herself, an easy first step you can try tomorrow morning, and a rapid fire with one hot take on benzoyl peroxide that we’re bracing ourselves for. We’ll share a full product roundup this week, so stay tuned! 91. We Are Back! The Elephant In The (Treatment) Room: The Truth About Roccoco Botanicals, What's Next For Pacific Touch + More

Happy Tuesday, STT Fam! We are FINALLY back (in a brand new studio, no less) and kicking off a new chapter of Skin Talk Tuesday. This week, Nichola addresses the elephant in the (treatment) room: what's really going on with Rococo Botanicals, why PT made the call to pivot, and what it means for your routine. She also shares the new products she's most excited to bring in, from NeoGenesis to Hale & Hush, plus why this feels like the Pacific Touch Method's moment. Before we get into it, we catch up on life after summer break. Mary shares how the Lift and Glow facial with Kim set her makeup perfectly for her best friend's wedding (and Nichola's tip for timing it before your own big event), plus a skin update ahead of the NYC Marathon on November 1st, including the azelaic serum and acupuncture session that calmed a summer flare. We also find out why Nichola is trading her Americano for matcha and bone broth. Plus, a rapid fire on peel season at PT, our current makeup faves, the one cleanser swap to make as the weather cools, and a skin mantra to carry you into fall. We're so back!
