Venus Retrograde 2026: What You’ve Buried Might Float Back Up

Venus retrograde is coming, and we'll be going deep. Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 3, travels back into Libra, and doesn’t station direct until November 13. Add the pre- and post-retrograde shadows, and we’re looking at more than three months of Venus asking us to pay attention to what we value, what we want, and whether the lives we’re living match either one. In this episode of Sky Notes, Tracy and Lillian dig into Venus retrograde in Scorpio and Libra: the things we’ve buried, the stories we’ve attached ourselves to, power and boundaries, changing values, relationships, money, creativity, and what happens when the goalposts quietly move. We also talk about the eight-year Venus cycle and why it’s worth looking back at what was happening in your life eight years ago; Erin Sullivan’s fascinating work on Venus retrograde and Venus as a filter for our values; Stormie Grace’s “slow soak” approach to Scorpio; the difference between emotions as information and emotions as instructions; and why Caroline Casey’s connection between Venus, beauty and art gives us a much richer Venus than the flimsy “love and pretty things” version astrology sometimes hands us. Most importantly, this retrograde isn’t only about digging things up. Venus eventually returns to Libra, giving us an opportunity to repair, renegotiate and decide what comes forward with us.And if things get heated along the way, we have one very useful question: Am I willing for this to end permanently? If the answer is no, maybe don’t blow it up just yet. 00:00 — Welcome back to Sky Notes + the strange energy lately03:30 — Why planetary rulers matter more than we think04:00 — Mars in Leo, ego and the backdrop to Venus retrograde05:15 — Scorpio, power and the victim/predator dynamic09:00 — Chiron back in Aries + the Gen X conversation14:55 — Venus in Scorpio + Stormie Grace’s “slow soak” metaphor16:45 — Mars, healing and what Venus may bring to the surface18:50 — Venus is about our values20:00 — When what we say we value doesn’t match how we live22:25 — Venus retrograde dates: shadow, retrograde + post-shadow23:30 — Venus, women, beauty and changing cultural conversations25:45 — Going deep requires structure and boundaries27:40 — Scorpio consequences: this retrograde isn’t necessarily light30:20 — Criticism, relationships + the Gottman Four Horsemen32:40 — Independence vs. clinging: two Venus retrograde extremes33:40 — The creative potential of Venus retrograde34:30 — Erin Sullivan + Caroline Casey on Venus, art and beauty39:00 — What if you were born with Venus retrograde?40:50 — Erin Sullivan: Venus as a filter for our values42:10 — Emotions as diagnostic tools44:35 — Past and future: the eight-year Venus cycle45:10 — Why looking back eight years can be surprisingly revealing47:00 — “Stories aren’t the thing. Astrology Forecast for the Week of Aug16 to the 22

We had a whole lot more to say about this week’s astrology than what made it into this video. 😂 We originally recorded a big section on the **Mars–Jupiter square**, then got interrupted and paused the recording. When we came back, that entire first part of the video had vanished. Gone. Apparently Mercury wasn’t finished with us yet. So, we pick things up with **Mars square Neptune** as we move through the space between August’s two eclipses. Mars square Neptune can bring fatigue, overwhelm and the frustrating feeling that you should be doing something without being entirely sure what that something is. But it can also be deeply creative and inspirational—and sometimes the most productive response is to stop pushing and give yourself some room. From there, we move into a fascinating Monday with **Mercury trine Saturn and Venus sextile Jupiter**, followed by several unusually quiet days with the Moon in Scorpio. That quiet gives us some space to go inward, think about boundaries and protection, and process what eclipse season has already stirred up. Later in the week, **Venus opposes Saturn**, bringing relationships, values, people pleasing and boundaries into sharper focus. And then Leo season has one final surprise for us. Before the Sun enters Virgo on Saturday, it crosses the **South Node at 29° Leo**—one last opportunity to release some of the baggage we've accumulated before we get a much-needed return to Earth energy. ### ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS **00:00** Mars square Neptune — fatigue, overwhelm & inspiration**05:34** Monday: Mercury trine Saturn**12:20** Venus sextile Jupiter — finding a helpful way forward**19:50** Moon in Scorpio — going inward, protection & boundaries**24:10** Venus opposite Saturn — relationships, values & people pleasing**25:40** The Sun's final days in Leo**26:06** Sun conjunct the South Node — what needs to go?**27:40** Preparing for Virgo season & the next eclipse**28:20** Moon into Capricorn — time for some practical cleanup 🌑 **WE'RE BETWEEN TWO ECLIPSES** If you'd like some practical help navigating eclipse season, grab my **free Eclipse Season Practical Guide**. The Astrology of August 9th - 15th: Are You Ready for Eclipse Season?

This week is a big one. Mercury finally leaves Cancer and moves into Leo, Venus is busy making aspects from her own sign of Libra, Mars moves into Cancer — and right in the middle of it all, we have the August 12 total solar eclipse in Leo. We take a closer look at this South Node eclipse and what it might be asking us to release, while also looking at all the astrology happening around it. With plenty of fire and air in the chart, it may be very easy to get swept up in ideas, overthinking and nervous-system overload. Grounding matters. We also talk about the unusual gift of having the Moon, Venus and Sun all in their own signs leading into the eclipse, planetary remediation and charitable giving, and the importance of asking a deceptively simple question: What do I actually want? The eclipse itself isn't tightly connected to everything else happening in the chart, which gives us an interesting possibility: life can keep happening while one particular area asks for our attention, release and adjustment. After the eclipse, things lighten up. Mercury sextiles Venus and meets Jupiter in Leo, and the weekend offers some lovely energy for writing, creativity, generosity, self-expression and maybe even a little karaoke.Just keep in mind that Mars square Neptune is building in the background. If you're feeling tired, let yourself daydream. Sometimes the astrology isn't asking you to push harder. ✨ Grab Your Gift: Tracy's Practical & Guide to Eclipse Season: https://consult-the-sky-qcy3vy.subscr... 🔭 TIMESTAMPS 00:00 – Welcome + the astrology of August 9–1500:40 – Mercury FINALLY leaves Cancer for Leo03:20 – Mercury square Chiron + Moon enters Cancer04:00 – Grounding before the eclipse04:50 – Moon, Venus + Sun in their own signs05:20 – Eclipse remediation + charitable giving06:50 – Venus opposite Neptune + trine Pluto07:55 – Mars trine the North Node08:10 – August 11 sets up the eclipse chart08:15 – Mars enters Cancer08:40 – Mercury opposite Pluto + trine Neptune11:50 – Venus trine Uranus + getting swept up in the energy12:52 – The August 12 total solar eclipse13:00 – South Node eclipse: release + letting go13:31 – Collective astrology vs. your personal chart14:00 – The grand air trine + the rest of the eclipse chart14:45 – Overthinking, overstimulation + grounding15:20 – Eclipse resources + working with astrology without fear17:43 – Are we already feeling the overstimulation?18:28 – What to do with too many ideas20:10 – Living into something before letting it go21:16 – Don't immediately fill the empty space21:56 – Mars + Chiron at 0°23:30 – Saturn retrograde: where are you holding yourself back?24:39 – Finding the gem underneath the muck25:00 – Is it difficult — or did you put it in the difficult pile?25:30 – What might this eclipse ripen over six months?26:05 – Saros cycles + eclipse families26:44 – Why some eclipses hit personally and others don't27:50 – Saros 126 + hope as an eclipse theme28:43 – North Node vs. South Node eclipses29:20 – August 12 eclipse timing + the Moon goes void30:20 – August 13: Mercury sextile Venus30:43 – A quieter Friday + Moon in Virgo30:50 – Mercury conjunct Jupiter in Leo31:15 – Give your Leo friends their flowers31:40 – Big expression + possible foot-in-mouth moments32:20 – Moon enters Libra: let the damage control begin32:40 – A great weekend for writing + creativity33:10 – Mars square Neptune starts building33:43 – Fatigue, daydreaming + creative energy34:10 – Apparently you CAN party this weekend34:37 – See you next week!
