We had differing attitudes going into this movie. We both WANTED it to be good, but Wil was a little more convinced that it WOULD be good. And turns out, he was mostly right! Fantastic Four First Steps was pretty good indeed. We picked its nits a little bit in this episode, but we largely had a good time. It’s a little annoying that the MCU still feels listless now six years after End Game, but this might be the first real signs of life.
As we mention, we have liked a handful of the movies and think history will be kind to this period in hindsight, but we’re cautiously optimistic for the future and excited to see what Marvel Studios cooks up after a long break.
What did you think of Fantastic Four First Steps? Let us know in the comments! Keep it civil and safe and we’ll all have a good time down there.

Episode 452: James Gunn’s Superman!
Well, we saw James Gunn’s new Superman movie and guess what? We liked it!
But you know we’ve got thoughts…
What did we think of David Corenswet’s cape game and Rachel Brosnahan’s take-no-prisoners Lois? Did the James Gunnerisms™ work their quirky magic, or was it all a bit too much? Was it too busy? Did it need an origin story? And um… Eve Tessmacher?? Let’s talk.
Press play and join us for the highs, the nitpicks, the swoons, and the space lasers!

Episode 451: Sinners!
Late to the party? Fashionably late, I’d say. I wizard arrives precisely when he means to… OK it just took a while for Wil to get in line and watch Sinners because we wanted to react to it, okay?! Anyway here we are, just a boy and a girl, standing in front of an audience of people on the internet, telling them what a great movie Sinners is. Is this description the rantings of someone whose mind is long lost? Who’s to say…
So what did you guys think of Sinners? Obviously we really loved it. Definitely a top tenner this year. Let us know what you thought in the comments!
