Teaching Tech Episode 9 - Livestreaming

Livestreaming is podcasting without a safety net. When you're recording, you can stop, restart, or fix mistakes in post-production. But when you're LIVE, your audience sees and hears everything — including the technical problems. In this episode of Teaching Tech with Professor Cannetti, we're breaking down the technology, equipment, and workflows behind building a reliable livestreaming setup. Whether you're livestreaming a podcast, interview, class, YouTube show, or special event, I'll walk you through the cameras, microphones, video switchers, audio routing, software, and monitoring you need to understand before hitting that LIVE button. **In this episode, you'll learn:** - The differences between recording and livestreaming - How video and audio signals travel through your setup - When you actually need a video switcher - How multi-camera livestreaming works - What the RØDECaster Video S can do for creators - Why audio routing matters more than you think - How to switch cameras without distracting your audience - Using graphics, lower thirds, and title cards effectively - How Stream Deck can simplify your workflow - Why monitoring your outgoing stream is essential - What to test before every livestream - Common mistakes and unnecessary complications to avoid I'll also share how I approach livestreaming as a solo creator, where you're often the host, producer, camera operator, audio engineer, technical director, and IT department all at once. Don't build the most complicated livestreaming setup you can afford. Because when you're LIVE, reliability matters more than complexity. Teaching Tech Episode 8 - Make 10 Posts

One podcast episode can become an entire week of content. In Episode 8 of Teaching Tech with Professor Cannetti, we're talking about how to get more value out of the content you're already creating. Instead of recording a podcast, publishing it once, and moving on, I'll show you how to turn that single recording into YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikToks, quote graphics, carousels, newsletters, and behind-the-scenes posts. We'll also explore how tools like OpusClip and Riverside can make repurposing easier, why AI shouldn't make all your editorial decisions, and how Substack can help you build a deeper connection with your audience. I'll walk through a practical 10-piece content framework you can adapt to your own workflow. The takeaway: Don't think one recording equals one post. Think one recording equals one week of content. You don't need to create more from scratch. You need to get more out of what you've already created. For episode recaps, resources, and practical creator checklists, join the Teaching Tech Substack. Start with what you have. Upgrade with purpose. Now go make something.
