[…] But I do remember what the picture looked like either way. And I think it's pretty symbolic of it. how I felt growing up post 9-11. The picture is me, only South Asian kid in the room, just looking kind of confused at the camera while everyone around me is holding an American flag. And then I also just remember as I got older, because 9-11 happened when I was so young and I don't remember much before it, I feel like I've always had a sense that one, people in my community are sometimes attacked or treated unfairly because of the way that we look and our faith.
