Research Monday: Angel names and books for study

The Watchers & Their Names: Angels, Giants, and the Ancient BooksWho are Abbadon and Azazel, and what do ancient Jewish writings say about the Watchers? In this episode, we trace angel names and stories across Genesis 6, 1 Enoch, the fragmentary Book of Giants from Qumran, and Jubilees. We’ll look at how these texts describe rebellious angels, forbidden knowledge, the giants, and the aftermath of the Flood. We’ll also compare those ancient writings with Clarence Larkin’s much later interpretations in The Spirit World and Dispensational Truth. Names and spellings can vary between texts and translations, so we’ll keep track of which source says what—and distinguish ancient tradition from later commentary and modern speculation. Reading list: Genesis 6; 1 Enoch, especially the Book of the Watchers (chapters 6–16); the Qumran Book of Giants; Jubilees; Clarence Larkin, The Spirit World (1921) and Dispensational Truth (1918; revised 1920). #BookOfEnoch #Watchers #Angels #DeadSeaScrolls #BookOfGiants #BiblicalHistory #Podcast

SolVoice Thursday Ep.4.5 Alister Crowley and The Angel hierarchy (video)

Jack Parsons, Aleister Crowley & the Fallen Angels: Occult Rituals, Ancient Gods and Hidden Knowledge What connects fallen angels, ancient gods, occult rituals, rocket science, and the search for supernatural knowledge? In this episode of SolVoice, we investigate the controversial life of Jack Parsons, the occult teachings of Aleister Crowley, and the mysterious 1946 Babalon Working—exploring the intersection of biblical texts, esoteric traditions, and early American rocketry. We begin with the fallen angels and Watchers described in 1 Enoch, examining their alleged descent to Earth, their union with human women, the Nephilim, and the forbidden knowledge attributed to them. From Azazel's teachings about weapons, metalworking, and adornment to the Watchers' associations with enchantments and celestial signs, we explore how these ancient accounts describe the transfer of supernatural knowledge to humanity. We then compare these narratives with supernatural figures from world mythology, including Prometheus, Zeus, Enki, the apkallu, and legendary heroes associated with divine parentage. Are these stories connected by shared cultural themes, ancient influences, or similar explanations for humanity's fascination with beings from beyond the human world? We examine the parallels without assuming that figures from different traditions are identical. Next, we enter the world of Aleister Crowley, exploring Thelema, his claimed communication with Aiwass, The Book of the Law, the Holy Guardian Angel, Enochian magic, and the Amalantrah Working. We investigate Crowley's use of biblical imagery, including Babalon and the Scarlet Woman, alongside Babylon the Great in Revelation 17 and the Beast
