Get Behind Me: When Love Sounds Like Warfare

What if the most dangerous opposition to your destiny doesn’t come from enemies… but from people who love you? In this episode, Dr. Delisa Rodgers unpacks one of the most misunderstood and intense moments in Scripture — when Jesus turned to Peter and said: “Get thee behind me, Satan.” — Matthew 16:23 (KJV) Why would Jesus call His closest disciple Satan? Was Peter possessed? Rebuked? Rejected? Or was something deeper happening? This episode explores the psychological, spiritual, and warfare dimensions of that confrontation. We examine how suggestion can function as strategy, how fear can masquerade as protection, and how even spiritually mature voices can unintentionally resist divine timing. You will discover: • Why the cross was the real target• How warfare often sounds reasonable• The difference between identity and alignment• Why Jesus corrected sharply but restored fully• How to discern when a voice is speaking from heaven — or from human emotion We also connect this moment to the wilderness temptation in Matthew 4 and explore how consistent spiritual strategies attempt to detour purpose rather than destroy it. This is not about labeling people as devils. It is about recognizing adversarial alignment. If you are navigating leadership, calling, relationships, or moments where obedience costs more than comfort, this episode will sharpen your discernment and strengthen your resolve. Because sometimes “Get behind me” is not rejection. It is repositioning. 🎧 Subscribe to Rooted and Rising for weekly conversations that merge Scripture, psychology, leadership, and spiritual authority. www.delisarodgers.com

   Heaven’s Keys vs. Hell’s Systems

What did Jesus really mean when He said, “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”? In this powerful episode, Dr. Delisa Rodgers unpacks the governmental, prophetic, and warfare dimensions of Matthew 16:18 and reveals why the Church was never designed to be on defense. Gates represent systems. Authority. Organized strategy. And when Jesus declared that the gates of hell would not prevail, He was announcing that structured darkness would never overpower authorized light. In this teaching, you will discover: • The historical and spiritual meaning of “gates” in biblical culture• Why gates are defensive structures and what that says about the Church• The difference between demonic activity and demonic systems• How to recognize when resistance is proof of advancement• Why Heaven gave you keys, not fear This episode will awaken boldness, dismantle intimidation, and reposition you as a Kingdom advancer. THE WARFARE OF PERSISTENT INTERCESSION: WHEN PRAYER BECOMES A WEAPON

There's a divine assignment on your life that the enemy is desperately trying to abort. Those names that burn in your heart, those faces that won't leave your mind, those family members who seem to be getting worse instead of better - THAT'S NOT COINCIDENCE, THAT'S CALLING! God has strategically positioned you as a watchman on the wall, as a warrior in the prayer closet, as an agent of heaven's intervention in the lives of those He's placed upon your heart. But here's what the enemy doesn't want you to know: When things appear to be getting WORSE after you've been praying, that's not a sign that your prayers aren't working - THAT'S CONFIRMATION THAT THEY ARE!
