Travelling near and far with my producer in search for music that affects the 'Soul'.
Hear us exploring musical landscapes wherever we go, through the eyes and ears of local heroes who have influenced their scenes throughout the decades.
Expect a bubbly mix going from Soul, Funk, Afrobeat and Latin, to Roots Reggae, Boogie, House and Beats & Rhymes.
We are live on Totally Wired Radio (London, UK) every second Sunday of the month.
A conversation. An unexpected reunion. A difficult few weeks. A piece of music you haven't heard for years. Suddenly, you find yourself looking at life — and the people around you — slightly differently.
SP#145: The Power of True Alignment comes from that place.
Two hours of music selected not simply by genre, decade or geography, but by instinct and connection. Sounds that shouldn't necessarily sit next to one another somehow find a common language — which, when you think about it, isn't a bad metaphor for people either.
There are reflections along the way on friendship, ageing, belonging, change, and the strange business of discovering what still fits when life doesn't quite resemble the picture you once had of it.
No grand answers.
Just some observations, a few stories and a serious amount of music.
From soul, jazz and rare groove to the unexpected corners that have always made up the Soul Partizan universe.
Maybe alignment isn't about getting everything right.
Maybe it's about recognising what feels right when it arrives.

Soul Partizan Radio Roadshow #143 – Grown Vibes: The only lie i ever told
For over 35 years, Tomorrow’s Warriors has helped change the landscape of UK jazz, nurturing an extraordinary generation of artists including Ezra Collective, Moses Boyd, Nubya Garcia, Sheila Maurice-Grey, Cassie Kinoshi and Nérija.
Founded by Gary Crosby OBE and Janine Irons OBE, their work continues to create opportunities for young musicians to develop, perform and flourish.
It was great to head down, soak up the sounds and atmosphere — made even better when some of my oldest friends joined me.
Another musical journey from the Soul Partizan Radio Roadshow. Enjoy the ride. 🎶
