Ep. 14: When It Feels Like Our Spiritual and Mindfulness Practices Aren't Meeting The Moment
In this episode, Nadjejda shares about that often in the past year and still at times now she has felt that her spiritual practices and mindfulness tools aren't meeting the moment. Regardless of keeping up with her daily meditation and walks among other tools like finding joy in the small things in life, she feels off and she's gotten that it's normal because we aren't living in normal times. In this episode she addresses her fellow healers, coaches, spiritual teachers and her fellow practitioners by sharing how the way we've been feeling is normal and she calls on those who lead, guide, and teach to be willing to speak on what's happening. She emphasizes on the fact that collective liberation will not come from us using these mindfulness tools and practicing our spirituality only. Systemic change and collective liberation will come from both using these tools and taking action against these oppressive systems while doing our decolonization work. Enjoy! Ep. 13: Being Open to All Forms of Support
In this latest episode, Nadjejda shares about us being open toreceiving all forms of support. She shares about how all if not most of us are struggling with something or more personally and collectively we have been struggling as well. She believes we need to make checking in on people a form of support that means much even when people need way more but she tells us to not dismiss that form of support. This is an episode she accidentally recorded, wasn’t sure about sharing it, she was vulnerable, and she chose to share it because she knows since she was inspired to record her thoughts on this, at least one person needs to hear it. Ep. 12: The Importance of Shifting from An Individualistic Mindset to A Collectivist Mindset
In this latest episode of season 2, Nadjejda shares about theimportance of shifting from an individualistic mindset to acollective mindset. She shares on how when we share from anindividual perspective without acknowledging our privilege and the fact that many have a different experience from our own due to them not having the same privilege, we aren’t able to connect and make an impact. This topic is one Nadjejda is passionate about and is an important part of her work. She wants to support leaders in their journey of unlearning what we’ve learned from white supremacy and colonialism in order to be more effective leaders and making a greater impact in the lives ofthose they are being called to serve. She invites her listeners to begin or continue to unlearn what we’ve learned from white supremacy by owning their privilege, understand that not everyone has that privilege, and to stand for those who don’t while doing their part in making sure one day all will have that privilege. Ep. 11: Choosing Awareness, Owning Our Privilege, and Being Mindful
In this episode, Nadjejda invites her listeners to choose aware, own their privilege and be mindful. She shares how doing those things will help us in our journey to dismantling the empire within ourselves. She shares about how we have many opportunities to do this work and gave them example to pay attention on how those of us with the privilege of not needing SNAP benefits are reacting and responding to the struggle of those on SNAP benefits who have had their benefits being withheld due to the government shutdown, cruelty, and greed. Ep. 10: Easing In After A Long Break: What Are You Being Called To Do In This Chaotic and Transformative Times
After a much longer break than anticipated, Nadjejda is easing her way back into season 2. In this first episode of season 2, Nadjejda shares about her own journey getting that she needed to make some changes in how she showed up for collective liberation. She shares about the need to slow down, embrace the current season we are in and making changes based on our current season. She shares about how she’s unlearning some things she learned from white supremacy. Another important point she makes is she shares the importance of taking time to imagine what we want to see in our lives, our communities, and world. We can get so wrapped up in what’s in front of us which is horrible and while we must not turn away, she reminds that it’s just as important for us to take time to imagine, envision, and dream to not fall into despair and to put out what we want to see. What does collective liberation feel like for you? What does it smell like? How will your life and your communities life improve when we achieve collective liberation? What do you desire for yourself and your life? Enjoy! She invites her listeners who are going to through it as well and are feeling overwhelmed from their personal struggles and the world being on fire especially bearing witness to the people in Gaza being starved by Israel....it's a lot to make time to grieve and pause if they feel the need to. It's Time For Courageous and Compassionate Leadership
In today's episode, Nadjejda speaks on the need for courageous and compassionate leaders, healers, teachers, coaches, mentors who are all influencers in the personal development industrial complex and the mental health industrial complex. This is something she's very passionate about because she sees a disconnect between many of people who have taken on those roles and those who follow, work, and learn from them. She also believes that the new world that we are being called to create requires new, courageous, authentic, and compassionate leadership. As we continue to bear witness to our world being on fire, many of our "leaders", influencers, healers, teachers are carrying on like nothing is happening and remaining silent on what's impacting us, our communities, and the world. We are taught to focus only on what we can control which makes us believe that we powerless and we need to focus solely on ourselves and those close to us. You know, things like work and focus on you only which breeds individualism and there's no mention of the collective in terms of what's been and continues to happen in our world which is hitting closer to home. She calls on leaders and others mentioned to shift if they want to make a difference and be relevant. She calls on those who want to speak up on what's happening to show up and she understands the fear and struggle they are experiencing in choosing to do so. She hopes this episode will begin an important conversation on this important issue and inspire people to reflect and take action in their lives, businesses, and work. During the episode Nadjejda mentions a blog post she wrote and published in late October 2023, see below if we want to read it. Enjoy! The Need for Community Care
In today's episode, Nadjejda begins to share her thoughts on the need for community care which is related to our mental health. She shares how often especially with everything that's happening around the world, we are often told and have been taught to minimize our own struggles and challenges because of the gravity of what's happening on a global level like the genocides in Gaza, Congo, Sudan, and the dire situation in her homeland Ayiti/Haiti. She cares deeply and stands in solidarity with all oppressed people. And she also believes in caring for ourselves and those we are in community with who like ourselves are going through it. She shares on the importance for us to have safe spaces to share ourselves beyond therapy and for us to be a safe space for people we are community with. She invites her listeners to not minimize their struggles due to what's happening on the world stage and to practice both/and. She wishes for all of us to be able to create and find communities where we can show up as our authentic selves and be able to share what's going with us with people who are safe and who care about us and for us to do the same for them. Let us say yes to building community care. Enjoy! The Impacts of Living Under The Empire Part 1
One of the things that is often on Nadjejda's mind, that she works on with herself and with her coaching and consulting clients is exploring how systems impact us. This includes uncovering, reflecting on, and unlearning what these systems/the empire have taught us. In today's episode, Nadjejda shares some examples of how empire specifically the U.S. empire teaches us to normalize the wrong its leaders have and continue to do around the world, to strive to be in high places aka be in close proximity to those in power, and to only care when something affects us directly. She gets raw and even uses a colorful word at some point. Excuse her French. Her invitation to her listeners is to begin or continue to explore how the empire has and continues to impact them. What have you learned from the empire? What are you going to practice unlearning and learn a new way to be which will benefit our fight for collective liberation? Anti-Blackness In Our Movements
In today's episode Nadjejda begins to speak on Anti-Blackness in our movements specifically Anti-Blackness in our movements when it comes to Black people in Congo, Sudan, and her homeland Ayit/Haiti. She shares about how she's often noticed that for many in our social movements, Black lives seems to matter only for Black people in the U.S. She believes that we have all in some way or another internalized anti-Blackness from colonization. She shares how our struggles and liberation are connected and no single issue is more important than another issue. She invites her listeners to look into their racial bias, to witness how they feel when they see someone from Ayiti or the Congo/DRC suffering and to compare their feelings to how they feel when they see someone from Palestine or someone who isn't Black suffering. She also invites them to show empathy for all even though they may choose to focus mostly on a particular issue. It's a lot and she understands, she's calling on people to be aware of and do the work to release their anti-Blackness. She invites them to truly stand for all people to be liberated which means being aware that the issue they're mostly focused on isn't the only issue happening around the world. Let's choose empathy, compassion, and liberation for all. Reflections on the 2024 Presidential Election and Moving Forward
In this episode which is the first one Nadjejda recorded, she shares her reflections and thoughts on the 2024 presidential election and moving forward. She shares her thoughts on former VP Kamala Harris being used by the Democratic Party's establishment (and yes, she did want to be president of the U.S. empire). In addition, she shares feeling conflicted at times, feeling fear for her community, herself, and feeling a sense of hope that this may also create an opportunity for real change even in the midst of lots of chaos and pain through an awakening of our collective consciousness. She shares some of what she is being called to do and who to be in this moment. She invites her listeners to disconnect from the noise and take time for themselves. She encourages them to take time to find out who they are being called to be and what they are being called to do in this transformative, chaotic, and uncertain time. Are you taking time to disconnect, rest, and reflect? Who are being called to be and what are you being called to do in this moment? My Invitation During These Dark and Transformative Times
In this episode which Nadjejda recorded over a week after the 2024 presidential election results, she invites her listeners to take time to rest and care for themselves. These are scary times and many of us are feeling anxious, uncertain, and scared. We've been and will continue to live through hard, dark, and transformative times. She believes we are worthy of rest and joy and we will not be able to show up for the long haul in our fight for collective liberation if we don't make caring for ourselves a priority. While she recorded this episode toward the end of 2024, her invitation still stands and resonates. Nadjejda believes it's one that she will always have for people and herself. What are you going to do this week to care for yourself? Are you going to make sure you rest this week?
