Temple Business: Unifying the Spiritual and Material Realms

TEMPLE BUSINESS: is such a concept an oxymoron? Is it something that can even exist? How can we speak about such sacred spiritual work, priestess work, in a "profane" or "mundane" business context? Questions like this naturally arise whenever we begin to explore that holy line where the spiritual realm meets the material, where inner transformation and wealth creation blend together. Perhaps the deeper question is: are we really, really ready to unify them? The spiritual and the material worlds are, I believe, meant to be in union. They are not meant to be separated. The separation between them is only in our minds. It's only in our bodies due to our consciousness. So whatever consciousness level we're holding around money, whatever separation exists within us between material resources and our spiritual calling ... or our perception thereof, is the level of separation between these things we'll experience in our lived reality. One of the most important shifts that any priestess can make when she feels the call into public service is to reweave the spiritual and the material in her mind. So that she comes to see her temple and her business not as separate, but as two polarities on a spectrum that is, is one from the perspective of Source Consciousness, IN UNITY.

Embracing the Power of Your Voice as a Transformative Frequency

Have you ever felt like there is something "wrong" with your voice? As if, just opening your mouth in any room ... in the most innocent way ... naturally calls forth unwanted reactions? Have you been told to "tone yourself down" or just "keep quiet?" These are all great signs that your voice is powerful. More than that, they are signs that your voice has a genuinely transformative frequency. Once we understand that the "problems" our voices cause are really a sign of their power ... it becomes very clear why so many of us have struggled with our voice or have had repeat cycles of people not listening to our voices, or not wanting to hear us. It also explains why it's so challenging for many of us to open up our voices in public service when we step into sacred business or any kind of public ministry or service in our spiritual calling. I took a long time to understand that when I walked into a room and started talking, people responded to the FREQUENCY of my voice because it was different. The frequency of my voice has the capacity to shake things up. My voice has the capacity to cause agitation. It has the capacity to cause triggers to surface. It has the capacity to call forth things in people they haven't thought about and felt in a very long time, which may or may not be comfortable. It has a capacity to call forth dreams and longings that have been buried. It has the capacity to challenge people to take action on something that they might rather hide from or run from. I didn't understand any of this.I wondered why people would eventually, maybe they liked me in the beginning, or they were drawn to me, but then they would cut and run as quickly as possible. And a lot of that has to do with the response to the frequency of my voice and the feelings and sensations that voice is actually causing inside of their body. Because your vocal frequency is specifically calibrated to alter the airwaves. The question is ... are you ready to claim and step into that power? For more on this ... enjoy today's episode! Liberating Your Feminine Sensuality: with somatic sexologist Sheeana Leigh

In this first interview on the show, somatic sexologist Sheeana Leigh and I explore the relationship between women's sexual pleasure and their intimate connection to their own bodies. We cover embodiment, self-worth, and the processes of grief and forgiveness that can open up new sensations and new experiences. As Sheeana notes, many women have been conditioned to view their bodies as separate from themselves, often as commodities for others' pleasure rather than their own. This disconnection can lead to a lack of awareness and access to personal pleasure. The grieving process of this self-abandonment cycle empowers a woman to reclaim her relationship with the body, which includes recognizing and processing trauma and pain stored in areas like the hips and pelvis. This process is crucial for women to establish trust and safety within themselves, allowing them to experience pleasure more fully. In this conversation, Sheeana will also share simple ways that women can reconnect with their bodies even while feeling a pervasive numbness or disconnection, which can be a barrier to experiencing pleasure. And of course ... we'll explore how time spent on sacred land gently assists a woman with bringing her body and pleasure back online!

Sound Prayers: An Ancient Healing Art

Could one wordless sound communicate more than a torrent of prayer? Possibly so, according to the early mystics who experimented with “Sound Prayers.” In this episode, we’ll explore this unique form of human-divine communication that does not rely on words. Instead, sound prayers utilize pure sounds, such as vowel tones or combinations which are believed to have medicinal qualities and can bypass the logical mind to connect more deeply with the soul. Join me as we delve into the fascinating Kabbalist history of sound prayers, which may date back to early Mesopotamia and may have been passed through oral tradition. We’ll explore what happens in your body when you practice sound prayers regularly, and how these simple yet powerful sounds express the longings of your heart and soul for which you might not even have conscious descriptive language. And of course … we’ll also DO a sound prayer together so you can experience this powerful medium live. I’m so excited to share with you the transformative potential of sound as a spiritual and healing practice, and encourage you to engage with your own voice and explore the depths of your inner experience.

Listening to the Voice of Sacred Land

Are you in a love relationship with land? And how might land actually draw out your authentic voice? Today’s episode explores the profound relationship between your soul and sacred land, emphasizing its role in healing and spiritual journeys. We’ll explore how many cultures view the land as the body of the goddess, highlighting the importance of connecting with the earth as part of one's spiritual practice. I share my personal experiences of how different lands have held and transformed me throughout my journey, and how the land has “been” the Goddess to me at any points, leading to deep insights and healing. We’ll also explore how to love the land beneath our feet currently as a source of wisdom and support, cultivating a relationship with it, whether in urban settings or more natural environments. The episode also touches on the significance of sound and song in this relationship, suggesting that the land responds to the authentic sounds of our bodies. I invite you, the listener, to visit places you feel drawn to and to engage with the land through offerings, such as song, to deepen your connection.

The Earth Sings: Clay Tablets & Temple Songs from Early Mesopotamia

There's a secret on the ancient-future devotional path ... and that secret is the role of EARTH in the transmission of temple wisdom, Goddess names, songs and more. EARTH in the form of clay tablets kept that wisdom for us for four thousand years, waiting to be un-earthed (pun intended) again. We rarely look at the Earth itself as a bridge or a connection in the transmission of vibrational wisdom -- language, ideas and song. But it is always our ally. In this episode we explore the way the body of the Goddess ... the soils of Her essence ... plays a role in providing us with Divine Names, songs, chants, incantations and more that are medicine for our own bodies. The Earth is the bridge and a connection between us and the divine. It provides a medium for us to capture sound and vibration so that they can be transmitted over time to different people. And in this episode, we'll explore the fascinating history of clay tablets ... literally, "paper" that's been fashioned from the earth itself ... and their role in preserving the Mesopotamian ancestral Goddess wisdom that enriches us today. We'll also look at ways to bring clay, as a gift of earth, into your spiritual practice. Learn more at lisamoriah.com or explore upcoming offerings at schoolofdivineradiance.com

Creativity & Authority: The Sacred Union of Your Voice

Ever wondered what makes a woman's voice magnetic ... so powerful, enticing, clear and compelling that people just have to listen to her? Perhaps you have also wondered why you're not able to command the attention and listening you'd like from friends, family, colleagues, bosses or prospects and clients. In this episode, you'll find out why. The human voice -- like the rest of our bodies and the planet -- is capable of holding energetic polarity. These polarities are usually thought of as masculine and feminine (not connected to gender). How much your voice integrates masculine and feminine qualities, will determine how magnetic your voice is. The process of integration is called SACRED UNION. Together we'll explore the alchemy and practical outworking of sacred union in your voice ... in particular, by looking at the dominant marker of each polarity in your voice: creativity (the feminine) and authority (the masculine). You'll have a chance to assess which polarity you currently lean on most in your communication, and where more integration may be needed to become a truly magnetic communicator. You'll also learn more about the limiting beliefs and subconscious mental systems that may cause you to reject or diminish a certain polarity in your communication ... which also diminishes magnetism. Your voice was designed to be powerful ~ and with the process of SACRED UNION at work, you'll be amazed how much more attention, respect and cooperation your words receive.

Reviving the Magic of Ancient Temple Chants

People often ask me "Where do your chants come from? Do you channel them?" And the answer is ... yes and no. While the guidance to create a new chant AND the tune come from my soul, the texts come from actual temple or spiritual chants from anywhere from 2000 to 4000 years ago. This episode is all about the process of encountering a powerful piece of poetry, a hymn or a temple song ... and recognizing that this is the "voice of the ancestors" which wants to be heard again. Join me for an exploration of chant as a tool for connecting the past to the present, being in relationship to the ancestors, and bringing ancient spiritual consciousness back to life. Not just "channeled" wisdom but the actual words that mattered to our flesh-and-blood spiritual ancestors in Sumer, Akkad and Babylon. While  there's no right way to "do" chant, I do have some convictions about what I've observed in the Divine Feminine community (and the wider chant world) -- areas where I feel there's more opportunity to use our voices and chant to be in greater relationship with all that is.

Goddess Names as Sound Portals to Healing, Wisdom and Power

What’s in a (Goddess) name? A lot, it turns out. Chanting Divine Names is an age-old practice … but what really happens when we bring the name into our bodies? Join me for an exploration of the healing, wisdom and feminine power that rise up in use when we open a Goddess Name as a DOORWAY TO A FREQUENCY, and a LINK IN THE CHAIN of ancestral connection. To experience it for yourself, we will also look at one Goddess Name from Mesopotamia and the Hebrew Bible — and chant that beautiful Name together to get the process of transformation started. Get ready to open some portals with me! My Priestess Story: From Church Girl to Goddess Woman

I frequently get asked, How did I come to what I call an “ancient-future devotional path,” which is reaching back into history to develop living relationships with our ancestor priestesses? ESPECIALLY when I started life in a conservative Abrahamic religious community that did not accept Goddess or priestesses? This journey has brought. me to a place where the ancestors are guiding me through history, ancient texts, and other sources we have in abundance today --- also through the dream space, creativity, and channeling. Integrating history and personal experience together to recreate the ancient path ... and tap into that goddess wisdom to guide us women in the present ... is the joy of my life. But I most definitelyI did not come to that path when I was 18 years old and headed off to college. (Not much that's worth doing happens that way, anyway, right?) It was a long journey to get here. In today's Sound of the Goddess podcast, I'll use my voice to share my story ... and if you're on a similar journey I hope this encourages you to keep going, knowing your journey is TAKING YOU SOMEWHERE AMAZING.

The Mesopotamian Hand Drum: Instrument of Liberation

What's the world's oldest (and simplest) instrument that still offers powerful medicine for activating our voices and gifts? The Mesopotamian hand drum--sometimes also called the frame drum. Join me for a delightful exploration of various types of hand drums and their medicinal effects in the body and energy. And yes, we'll hear sound samples from several types of drums! An instrument of priestesses in early Sumer, the hand drum is a powerful tool for freeing your voice and creativity. Playing these beautiful drums is a full-bodied experience and a perfect addition to a somatic sound healing practice. My first encounter with the hand drum was the real beginning of my journey into finding my own rhythm, hearing my own song, and becoming the vessel and voice of the Goddess. Through the drum, we discover the medicine that She desires to flow through us, and turn around and give it out to the world. Come find your rhythm with me.

The Earliest Known Woman with a Powerful Voice

Nothing calls forth our own vocal power more than the stories of early women whose powerful voices ring out across the millennia. Today, we’ll meet a Mesopotamian high priestess who is the world’s earliest-recorded and named writer — Enheduanna. As a ritualist, poet and also a political ally Sumer’s king (her father), this brilliant woman left us a library of stunning devotional poetry that still brings chills to modern readers when rendered into English. These amazing poems ... one set to the Goddess Inanna and another set describing many temples around Sumer, among others ... lay buried in the sands of Iraq for centuries, in the ruins of the ancient city of Ur. Thanks to tablets of clay unearthed in the early 20th century and following, we today have the privilege of meeting this woman again. And, of allowing her story and her life to speak to us … inspiring us to speak freely and leave messages that might last another four thousand years. Who knows?
