At Southside, we seek to build real followers of Jesus. What does that mean? We want people to be themselves, be genuine, and not feel like they have to hide behind a mask. We believe that relationships encourage action, and that action leads to life change.
Voices: I Am | “More Than a Miracle” | John 11:17-44; John 12:11 - Pastor Allen Drew
Throughout the Gospel of John, Jesus made seven unforgettable statements beginning with the words, “I Am.” Each statement reveals more of His identity and invites us to trust Him with every part of our lives. In “More Than a Miracle” from our “Voices: I Am” series, we look at Jesus’ declaration as the resurrection and the life—and how raising Lazarus was more than a miracle. It was a message about who Jesus is.
Jesus is more than we expect Him to be, cares more than we understand, and has power greater than we can imagine. He entered into Martha and Mary’s grief before demonstrating His authority over the grave. Resurrection wasn’t simply something Jesus could do. Resurrection life was found in who He is! Jesus doesn’t simply offer to improve our lives. He offers to give us new life. Lazarus’s life became a testimony that pointed others toward Jesus. Has your encounter with Him changed the way you live—or have you simply added Jesus to the life you were already living? His question is personal: Do you believe this?
SCRIPTURE:
• John 11:25-26, 35, 43-44; John 12:11 (ESV)
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:35 Jesus wept.
John 11:43-44 When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
John 12:11 Because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus.
THIS WEEK’S ACTION STEPS:
• Open His Word and read John 11:17-44 and John 12:11.
• Ask where you have limited your expectations of Jesus.
• Bring your grief and pain to Him, trusting His heart even when you don’t understand.
• Examine your life: Have you simply added religion, or received new life through Jesus?
• Let your new life become a testimony that points others toward Him.

Voices: I Am | “The Voice” | John 10:1-18; Psalm 23:1-6 - Jeff Williams
Throughout the Gospel of John, Jesus made seven unforgettable statements beginning with the words, “I Am.” Each statement reveals more and more of His identity and invites us to trust Him with every part of our lives. In "The Voice" from our “Voices: I Am” series, we look at Jesus’ declaration as the Good Shepherd who calls us, walks with us, and knows us intimately.
We can easily become so busy trying to live the Christian life that we forget to actually walk with Christ. If the Lord really is our Shepherd, why do we live like we don't have one? Stop following every other voice and start listening to the Good Shepherd!
SCRIPTURE:
• John 10:11, 14-16; Psalm 23:1-4 (ESV)
10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,
15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
THIS WEEK'S ACTION STEPS:
• Get quiet and turn down the noise.
• Open His Word and read John 10 or Psalm 23.
• Listen and ask where you need to surrender.
• Follow in obedience.

Voices: I Am | “The Opportunity of a Lifetime” | John 10:7-10 - Paco Trujillo
Throughout the Gospel of John, Jesus made seven unforgettable statements beginning with the words, “I Am.” Each statement reveals more and more of His identity and invites us to trust Him with every part of our lives. In "The Opportunity of a Lifetime" from our “Voices: I Am” series, we look at Jesus’ declaration, “I am the door.”
We live in a culture that tells us abundant life comes from the things we produce or consume, but good things make terrible gods. True life isn't found in creation—it's found in the Creator. Jesus is the door to the best life you could ever live, offering us true protection, freedom, purpose, and victory over our enemies!
SCRIPTURE:
• John 10:7-10 (ESV) 7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
THIS WEEK'S TAKEAWAY:
• Abundant life is only found in Jesus.
