When Grief Becomes Generational: Why the Body Keeps Carrying the Loss- Meridians Pt. 3
Something can end years ago, and you can understand that it is over, while your body is still responding as though the loss is happening now. This is what we often misunderstand about grief. Grief is bigger than feeling sad after someone dies. It is the physical, emotional, and identity-level process of adapting when a person, relationship, home, dream, role, future, or version of your life is no longer there. Your mind may know the loss happened years ago, while your nervous system is still bracing for another loss, your relationships are shaped by what happened, your breath changes when you remember it, and your identity is still built around who you had to become to survive it.This is also how grief can become generational. In this episode of the **Sovereign Sisterhood Movement Podcast**, we explore what grief actually does to the body, nervous system, identity, and family system—and how the Lung and Large Intestine meridians give us a framework for understanding the human rhythm of receiving, processing, and releasing. 🌹 **IN THIS EPISODE, WE COVER:** • Why grief can stay active long after a loss • How grief differs from fear, anger, and resentment • How unresolved grief shapes the nervous system, body, and identity • How grief can become a generational family pattern • The **Metal Element** and the Lung + Large Intestine meridians• The rhythm of **receive → process → release** • Why breath and prana matter in processing grief• Why healing requires both **physiology and identity** • The question grief eventually asks: **Who am I now?**• Yogananda, the **Divine Mother**, and grief as a spiritual process • Christ Consciousness and **releasing the form while keeping the love** • The **Self-Efficacy Meditation** from *Tending the Ancestral Garden* • Simple practices to support grief and release • Why community and sisterhood matter in generational healing • What’s next: **the Heart Meridian, joy, and learning to receive life again**🌹 Welcome Sovereign Sister! ⏱️ **CHAPTERS** 0:00 Why grief can stay in the body years after a loss 4:10 Fear, anger, resentment + grief: understanding the difference 8:05 What grief actually is — and why it is about more than death 12:20 Why women survive loss without fully processing it 16:05 The 12 Meridians + Five Elements 19:10 The Metal Element: Lung + Large Intestine Meridians 22:30 Receiving, processing + releasing 26:15 How grief affects the nervous system, breath + body 31:05 When the body stays in survival after the loss is over 35:30 How unresolved grief affects your capacity to receive 39:20 Generational grief + inherited survival patterns 44:10 How daughters inherit the emotional environment of their lineage 48:25 When grief becomes identity 52:10 How generational grief becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy 56:30 The two phases of healing: physiology + identity 1:01:15 Who am I now? How to Know If You Carry Inherited Resentment and Where It Lives: Why You Can't Forgive The Meridians Series, Ep 2
The person you cannot forgive is keeping you awake at 2 a.m. while they sleep just fine, and in this episode I show you where resentment actually lives in your body, why forgiveness has felt impossible, and how to finally release the inherited anger stored in your liver through Kundalini Yoga, the science of the nervous system, and the Christ Consciousness teaching on forgiveness.🌹 Join the Sovereign Sisterhood Sanctuary → https://jnkwzv.subscribepage.io/⛰️ Becoming the Vessel Fall Pilgrimage, 3 seats left → https://crestone2026.subscribepage.io/This is Episode 2 of a four-part series walking the meridians, the energy pathways that carry prana through your body, one emotion and one pair of organs at a time. Last week was fear. This week is resentment, the anger held so long it turned into something you carry in your body and pass down your maternal lineage. Resentment lives in the Wood element, in the liver and the gallbladder, and until it moves, it wakes you at night, wears down your body, and keeps you bound to the person who hurt you. What you'll learn:- Where resentment lives in the body, in the liver and gallbladder, and the body clock that explains why you wake between 1 and 3 in the morning with the same person on your mind- How anger is meant to be a clearing force, and what happens when it gets stored instead of moved- How resentment travels down the maternal lineage, each woman handing down the anger she was never allowed to feel- How stuck resentment shows up in the body: headaches, tight shoulders, slow digestion, blurry vision, painful periods- The truth about forgiveness: it is taking your energy back, not letting anyone off the hook, taught through A Course in Miracles and the teachings of Jesus and Yogananda- The two phases of healing, physiology and identity, and why forgiveness only becomes possible once the body is resourced- The science of why you cannot forgive with your mind alone, and why the feeling has to be released from the body and brain- The Kundalini Yoga Meditation to Arouse Mercy and Compassion, and how it moves the stored emotion- Three things you can begin this week to release resentment and take your energy backJoin us in our complimentary Facebook Group Private Community Group to download the Compassion Forgiveness Meditation by clicking here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/sovereignsisterhoodmovementChapters00:00 The person you can't forgive02:00 Why this matters: the anger under the fear04:00 The meridians: where your emotions live06:00 The Wood element: liver and gallbladder09:00 How resentment moves down the maternal lineage12:00 How stuck resentment shows up in the body15:00 The Pisces full moon window17:00 The science of resentment in the body20:00 The truth about forgiveness (A Course in Miracles)25:00 The two phases of healing: physiology and identity30:00 The Christ Consciousness perspective34:00 The Meditation to Arouse Mercy and Compassion38:00 Three things to begin this weekJoin the Generational Healing Movement I am Veronica Barragan, founder of the Sovereign Sisterhood Sanctuary, Kundalini Yoga therapist, and author of *Tending the Ancestral Garden, Reclaiming the Sanctuary*. How to Know If You Carry Inherited Fear, and Where It Lives: The Meridians Series, Ep 1
Fear, anger, grief, and stress all live in a real map inside your body called the meridians, and in this first episode of our four part series, I show you what the meridians are, why your emotions get stuck in them, and how fear in particular lives in the kidney and bladder and can finally be moved through Kundalini Yoga chanting and the breath, prana. This is Episode 1 of a four-part series walking the meridians, the energy pathways that carry prana through your body, one emotion and one pair of organs at a time. The meridians are where your emotions actually live and move through, and once you understand this map, your body stops being a mystery and you release the fear at the root. We begin with fear, because the body has to feel safe before anything else can heal/evolve, and fear lives in the Water element, in the kidney and the bladder and is once of the most common emotional patterns that is passed down in lineages.Along the way, this episode shows why understanding the meridians is not optional for women. There is a mental health crisis among women right now, and its real root is a fear that lives in the body and gets passed down the mother line, one that cannot be prayed or medicated away. We look honestly at how women's bodies actually work, how women in crisis have been failed for generations, and the heartbreaking case of Lindsay Clancy, as the proof of why this holistic body, mind, soul-based medicine cannot wait. What you'll learn:- What the meridians are, the twelve energy pathways that carry prana through your body, and why your emotions flow or become stagnant in the rivers - How the meridians work: yin and yang, the six organ pairs, the five elements, and the emotion each one carries- The two vessels up your spine that carry your ancestors' energy, and why restoring flow in the meridians is generational- Why fear lives in the kidney and bladder meridians, and the body clock that explains why so many women crash between 3 and 7 in the evening- The science that will give you chills: your adrenal glands, which make your fear hormones, sit directly on top of your kidneys, exactly where the meridian map placed fear thousands of years ago- Why the women's mental health crisis, and the Lindsay Clancy case, prove this matters now more than ever - The Chattr Chakkr Vartee Kundalini Yoga mantra, why chanting this mantra moves fear when words cannot, and Yogananda's Christ Consciousness teaching on fear and the Cosmic Mother- Plus Three things you can begin this week to move fear out of your body**Chapters:**00:00 You can't pray your fear away02:00 Why this matters for women04:00 What the meridians are07:00 How the meridians work: yin, yang, pairs, and elements10:00 The vessels that carry your ancestors13:00 Women, fear, and a system that fails them: the Lindsay Clancy case20:00 Fear in the kidney and bladder, and the body clock24:00 The science: your adrenals sit on your kidneys29:00 The mantra that moves fear33:00 The Christ Consciousness perspective37:00 Three things to begin this weekWelcome to the Sovereign Sisterhood Movement Sovereign Sister!I am Veronica Barragan, founder of the Sovereign Sisterhood Sanctuary, Kundalini Yoga therapist, and author of *Tending the Ancestral Garden, Reclaiming the Sanctuary*.
